Everyone get close, you are witnessing a Testaverdefanus. An almost extinct and completely unintelligent species of football fan...it's incredibly rarely see one outside their home lair of www.vinnytestaverde16.com.

There is no way Testaverde takes the job from Frye. He is their QB of the future. I really liked what I saw from Frye last year. The browns are very high on him. Testaverde would be an excellent addition as a tutor for Frye and a stopgap back up. Testaverde alledegedly turned down a number of offers last year to play. Cleveland IMO would be an excellent place for him where he could be sit back as act as a coach.

I am sure he would like to join a team that stands a chance to win the SB but most likely that will not happen. It will be interesting to see how Cleveland does this year with all the FA additions and the development of Frye. Most likley they are a year away from having a chance to contend. But you never know. I have a feeling I will be needing a longshot team to root for next year if the Jets season turns out poorly. Cleveland could be a lot of fun to watch with Frye, Edwards and Winslow.

you guys are villifying Vinny for thinking about a return to the Browns...but nowhere in the article does it say anything about them actually talking to Vinny about a return. It was all the Browns coach saying that crap, none of it came from Vinny.

No... one hit and done... that would be Pennington.

Vinny is tough enough to hang in there longer than Penny... question is just how long can he hang in there with that old body of his?

Give Vinny a break. The guy had the best season of any quarterback in Jets history. If it wasn't for some costly fumbles against Denver, he would have brought us the Super Bowl we so desperately desire.

    1998: 29-TDs 7-INTs 101.6-QB Rating

That season alone earns him my respect.

The only thing I'd see Vinny doing is being the 3rd string QB, and helping Frye develop, and also maybe throwing 1 TD to boost his record.

Yes, I heard they communicate with each other by tossing oblong objects over each other's heads.

Clearly the Super Bowl and Namath will be remembered more. Namath is a hall of famer based on his persona and his guranteed victory, just as much as his on field performance. For his career, Namath had 170 TDs to 215 INTs. Those are horrible numbers. It was a different era, and he fought through numerous injuries, but at that end of the day Joe Namath is somewhat overrated. His stats are dwarfed by Ken O'Brien who had 124 TDs to just 95 INTs. I love Namath as much as any Jets fan, but when looking at the whole of his career he is not an all time great. By the way neither is Vinny.
