Do not underestimate the Bengals. They swept the Ravens which is easier said than done.

With their starters. When we face them they could rest a lot of their starters like the Colts.

It's really all set up well for us. We should beat the Bucs and the RyanTurnerlessFalcons and facing a starter less team in the Colts and Bengals.

Really we control our destiny one way or another

I really don't think Houston is in the playoff picture anymore. And if the Patriots lost to the Panthers I would die of laughter.

Not only that but that would mean the Pats losing 3 in a row! When was the last time that happened with them?

Only game that will go our way next week is Indy.

I guess you can say Miami / JAX because that's a win win AND lose lose no matter what the scenario.

What would happen if let's say Miami and Jax did tie? How is that then determined in terms of records and such?

Sanchez has been much more careful over the last couple weeks, and I can't fathom that we'd put the ball in his hands much in a playoff game. Last week, we threw the ball 17 times and ran it 43 times. An offense like that isn't giving the ball up.

I whole-heartedly disagree. I could say we're not winning the superbowl this year, no matter what, so what's the point of going to the playoffs at all?? I don't care if we put this bitch in reverse on top of a hill and back our 18-wheel ass into the playoffs, that extra experience for Sanchez and our boys would be priceless. Then next year when we've really got our shit together and make the playoffs, Sanchez would already have a playoff game under his belt, which is experience that will help immeasurably.

    1) handle your business, 2) get in at all costs, then 3) play your ass off and hope for the best

I am 1-0 vs teams in Florida when attending on the road. I am going to the Bucs game.

Well if the Pats lose(which they aren't) then we root for JAX to win for the division; and if the Pats win then we "gulp" root for the dolfags to win for the wildcard. Also we need to beat Tampa, that's all that really maters next week.

I hate having to root for either the Pats or the Fins multiple times in a season, takes hours to scrub that feeling out in the shower

our Defense has been inconsistently 'nasty,' and our offense makes mistakes all the time.

I don't think we need to worry about the steelers, right now we are ranked ahead of them so if we both win out(which is necessary for both of us) we would probably get the spot over them. Plus, I doubt they will win out anyway. Although if they could beat the ravens and phins they could really help us.

Jets are in a good spot. JAX has Miami and Indy next two weeks and Miami has JAX and Tennessee.

10-6 is what we're looking at having to get to, whereas Miami could probably make it in at 9-7.

The Bengals will probably be playing for a first round bye and a chance at home field. If we can win the next three, our playoffs just start a week early.

We have a better shot at winning the East than getting a wildcard at this point. The first tiebreaker for the wildcard is head-to-head followed by division record followed by conference record, followed by strength of victory.

We lose a tie for anything with Miami (head to head) - so if they 4-0 at this point we are toast.
We lose a tie for anything with New England (division) - so if they 3-1 at this point we are probably toast.
We win a tie with Cincinnati (head to head) - if they 1-3 at this point we have a small shot there.
We likely lose a tie with Baltimore (conference) - if they 4-1 at this point we are likely toast for a wildcard.
We likely win a tie with Pittsburgh (strength of victory) - if they 4-0 at this point we have a good shot at a wildcard with a similar performance.
We lose a tie with Jacksonville (head to head) - if they 3-1 at this point we are likely toast for a wildcard.
We probably win a tie with San Diego (conference or strength of victory) - if they 1-3 at this point we have a small shot there.
We lose a tie with Denver unless they win @ Philly (conference) - if they 2-2 at this point and lose to Philly we are likely toast for a wildcard.

What all of this means is that if any of the contenders but Pittsburgh gets hot alongside us we are probably toast for a wildcard. In that scenario we lose out to the hot contender plus the other team likely to get to 10 wins (Denver).

If New England goes 2-2 and Miami 3-1 in the final quarter of the season and we go 4-0 we win the division. That's our best shot at this point.

With the upcoming schedules for the remaining 4 games, it looks in our favor. Jax plays Mia, IND NE and Cleveland.. There is no way they get out of there with a 3-1 record and if they do, they better lose to IND and give NE another loss.
MIA Has anyone really seen the remaining schedule for MIA.. 4-0? serously? Try 2-2 at best. Jax, Houston Pittsburgh and Tennessee.. Ouch
Balt Things look pretty if they lose tomorrow night to GB.. Then another date with Pit in a few weeks gives one of the teams a 7th loss. Detroit, Chicago and Oakland round out the schedule...
Pit Todays loss was huge.. With a game against the JV Browns they will be 7-6 on sunday. Remaining games against Miami GB and Baltimore doesnt bode well for the defending champs..

NO. Miami beating Jacksonville gives us more ways to make the playoffs.

I agree. Get Jacksonville out of the way first. Miami has a gauntlet down the stretch that I don't think they can handle. Jacksonville has one gimme left, and we need them to lose twice. Miami has no gimmes left, and we need them to lose once. Get the Jaguars out of the way.
