The Jets have almost no shot at winning the AFC East. We have to hope for a Wild Card spot because those spots are decided by in conference records if there's a tie.

Bengals over Vikings...we want the Colts and Bengals to have home-field sewn up and rest their starters over the last 2 weeks.

Yes, I do know. If the Pats and Fins both go 9-7 and the Jets go 10-6, the world will end. It's incredibly unlikely.

Our division record is a load of complete suck. If it comes down to a tie in the division, we won't win.

We have to hope for a Wild Card spot.

Actually it would be in our best interest for the dolphins to win next week, which will give us all 7-6 instead of being a game back with 3 to play... Jax then plays NE and IND.
Dolphins wont win out... they have a TOUGH remaining schedule.

I see your points, however, why not play them at the top of their game? If we can't beat them at their best, we won't in the playoffs. So whats the point?

Reach the playoffs, that's the first goal. And we'll be the kind of team nobody wants to face in the playoffs: a nasty defense and an offense that won't make mistakes. I believe that's how Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl against Seattle a few years back.

Beat the Bucs, that's the first and only goal of this team right now.

An offense that doesn't make mistakes? I KNOW you aren't talking about our beloved Jets. What team were you referring to?

I agree with you, but beating the crappy Panthers, Bills, Buccaneers, Ryan-less Falcons, Starter resting Colts and Bengals would not be that impressive or a proper challenge. Then the Wild Card game comes and the Jets get blown out.

Exactly. This is the only scenario that makes sense for this team.

Miami and Jacksonville are not teams to worry about really. Both schedules are too tough to win out. The Jets winning out is also unlikely, but if the Jets did they would have to worry about the Ravens and Steelers. Thats it in my opinion.

As of right now though, the Jaguars have a Wild Card spot. We need them to lose, right?

I know their schedule is hard as hell, and I'm happy for that. They'll lose 2 or 3 more games. Hopefully the same thing will happen to the Dolphins.

I am worried about Baltimore. Things will become a lot more clear after tomorrow night's game.

I'm not worried about the Steelers right now. That team is a mess.

Fuck that. You have a chance in ANY game with the #1 defense in the NFL. It's a rock/paper/scissors league.

I don't give a fuck how this team gets there as long as we make it.

Jacksonville would be the best chance for a New England loss but I think the Patsies are a good bet to win out. That leaves the wild card. If we project a New England win over Jacksonville, I think we would root for them over the Fins even in the wild card race due to thier tough schedule (If we win out and Jax loses to NE and the Colts we finish ahead of them).

As a Jets fan I think it is just easiest to root against Miami as always.

You can only play who is on your schedule. If the Jets end up going 10-6, they would have won 6 straight games. In the NFL, that is always impressive.
