Adds great insight , talks with great knowledge and has a great feel for the game.

Makes the likes of Dierdorf look like imbeciles

Yes I was surprised to hear his comments, and the experience and authority he had behind them, as well as the insight, having worked with Rex, and his honest assessment of Sanchez during the game... you ca see as well as did Billick when Sanchez had to visibly restrain himself from trying to do to much/press, and stay within himself as a "manager of the game"

I was ok with Billick yesterday until he let fly the gem that Calvin Pace's high level of play was keeping Vernon Gholston on the bench. The man obviously does not know enough about the Jets to know that Vernon Gholston is keeping himself on the bench. The "Gholston bust?" topic is so big with Jets fans that it made me wonder if Billick did any preparation at all for the game.

There were a few other nuggets of disinformation in his performance but that one just stood out like a sore thumb.

If Gholston had worked out Bryan Thomas would be sitting on the bench and Calvin Pace would be on the strongside.

I'll take Gruden any day of the week over this cheeseball Billick. Kinda makes me wish that Gruden would give up coaching for good to run the commentator's booth for the rest of his career. The guy is money....

I watched the broadcast last night and enjoyed Billick's insight, but I also noticed this. I'll give him one mistake, he doesn't see the Jets a lot. I'm pretty sure we had already signed Pace when we drafted Gholston, he should have at least known that.

Whether or not that's true, it doesn't change the fact that he really knows his shit and does a good job of communicating to the audience.

I like Billick. I think Gruden is good also, but I think he's been pulling punches lately.

Only slightly off-topic - for my money, the best play-by-play/color/sideline team in all of football isn't in the NFL. Lundquist/Danielson/Wolfson doing SEC games on Saturday is the best group, college or pro. They'll be better once Tebow is gone. That's the only thing they overdo.

Nothing is going to beat John Madden for the decade he really cared about the booth in the 90's. He was freaking great. My favorite moment ever watching a color guy do an interview was when he fed Randy Moss a turkey leg off of his turducken on Thanksgiving in 1998 or 1999. He started asking him questions about the game, which had just finished, and then his voice trailed off as he watched Moss go after the turkey leg full throttle. He knew he was getting one of the great interviews of all time and he didn't even have to say anything.

I hate listening to Billick. He thinks he is a genius and is willing to tell anyone within earshot how smart he is. He only won the single super bowl while having one of the best defenses ever. He was brought in as an offensive coach since the defensive side was covered. His big claim to fame on the offensive side was Kyle Boller.

The rumor down here is that Billick is on the short list for ND and I'm looking forward to him headed off the college ball where I wont have to listen to him anymore.
