He's on pace to go over 10,000 yards for his career next season if he keeps up the pace he's been on. That would put him in the top 25 all time.

    Code:
    20	Ricky Watters	10,643
    21	JAMAL LEWIS	10,567
    22	Tiki Barber	10,449
    23	Eddie George	10,441
    24	Ottis Anderson	10,273
    25	Joe Perry	9,723

I was a TJ hater and I think everyone must admit he doesn't give his best at the beginning of the season... but now he's showing he's an important part of the puzzle for the Jets and he's deserving to be kept around next year as well (the fact it's an uncapped year surely helps otherwise his contract would be hard to digest).

    Props to TJ :)

PS I hope having guys like TJ and Tony Richardson helps Greene understand how to train to become a great back. I think LW is a hard worker as well so that will hopefully help SG as well.

He was brutal at the start of the season, but has really stepped it up and deserves props for this year and his career. One helluva player.

He's so much like Curtis Martin. Just a quiet, lunch pail kind of guy that manages to put up big yardage numbers without the flashy 60 yard runs. If he had any breakaway speed to speak of, he'd have been in the conversation for best back in the AFC last season.

this is a guy who was hated on this board. absolutely disregarded and hated. for absolutely no good reason other than he has alot of money due to him this year and he is not the shiny new car anymore....

but he just keeps quiet and produces and now that the smoke has cleared and all the shit talkers arent talking anymore. people begin to notice what he is doing just like he has done the past number of years.

but i am sure everyone will be hating on him again in a couple months.

I think Jones is clearly having his best year on the Jets at the moment.

If he has a better season than he did last year, I'm going to eat some serious crow. I guaranteed he wouldn't top 2008.

i guess the question now is how long do the jets think he can do this for? if he seems like he can do this for 2-3 more years they need to try to work out a contract with him. he hasn't shown any signs of wearing down but that happens over night for an nfl running back. his dedication to staying in great shape would suggest that he has a good amount left in the tank.

t.j. is going to be a very tough and very important decision after this season.

I ripped into TJ for holding out at age 30 for more cash.... I figured we could easily just cut him and let Greene/Washington carry the load. He has definitely made me eat crow, he's putting up fascinating numbers for a guy his age. He actually does remind me a lot of C Martin attitude-wise and just how patient of a runner he is.

interesting question will be if he deserves to come back even after a year like this.

great franchises are known for letting these players go even when they have seasons like this and finding their replacement.

i'd say keep TJ only if that contract gets reworked. Or, let him get that last big payday somewhere else. RBs are replaceable.

TJ is a really solid RB. One of my favorite Jets cause he gives it all it seems. ND, what is his contract status?
