Ellis has always been a grinder, He's had a couple very good games now.

Shaun Ellis is the kind of player that is very rare in todays pro football (at least as far as the Jets are concerned). He's a solid rock on the team, been here for a decade, and his play is always solid. And he always looks like he's playing his heart out. I've always loved him and his big ole leverage beer-belly.

Totally agree. Always been an Ellis fan. I don't understand the more than occasional off season comments you hear dissing him. He may not be the best DE who ever played the game, but he gives a solid performance for the Jets, is fun to watch, and the team could very much use several more like him. Along with Jones quietly having a good game, and Revis, Ellis was a high point in a very bad day.

Ellis was our best DL yesterday and totally deserves this appreciation thread, be DeVito was a beast as well. I definitely want to see more of DeVito in these games down the stretch.

And David Harris for that matter, 14 tackles.

Ellis is the Mo Lewis of this decade. Hope he can stay around for another solid run.

Ellis has been playing real good, if they can find a young guy to share snaps with him he'll be able to contribute another year or two.

IF we draft a DE in next year's draft we'll have 2 very big and strong run-stuffing DEs (DeVito and Pouha, who I think plays better at end then at NT) and 2 more athletic-sack producing DEs (Ellis and the kid we draft, Wottoon anyone?) with Pitoitua learning from the sidelines. If we can also add a NT tackle prospect (not necessarily Cody or a high round guy) We'll have a heck of a DL.

    BUMP...

This guy played (another) hell of a game. 2 huge sacks in huge situations and very stout in helping with the stop of Buffalo's run game in the 2nd half. He is a solid pro, plays his best in the games that matter the most and along with Revis Christ (natch), he should take a HUGE bow tonight. Good job, Big Cat!!

Shaun Ellis is a great Jet. He was a beast tonight. You can see how smart and experienced he is in his approaches. Great game from SE tonight.

Still got some gas in the tank. Big Cat has been a great Jet and has made some huge game-winning plays for us over the years.

I'll never forget that hit on Brady to clinch the game in '06. My avatar will never change. That hit alone put him in my top 10 Jets in my 25 plus years rooting for this team.
