Im surprised no one commented on this yet but Revis should NOT be returning punts. The risk of him getting hurt out ways the reward of him picking up good return yards. It is much more important he stays healthy to shut down their best wide receiver.

I'm guessing he was returning punts because of Leonhard's injury and because the CS didn't have faith in Lowery doing it...

I'm so entirely go against it. Even with what you said Mambo, I'd put Rob Turner or Matt Slauson returning punts before I put Revis back there.

Revis was a great return man in college...but i agree with the OP...he shouldn't be returning punts at this stage of his career. I'm sure it's temporary.

the only logic response is that after leonhard got injured they didn't really have anyone else practice returning kicks so they went with Revis because they figured that he would be the best considering they did not really have anyone else return punts in practice and did not want to risk a muffed punt

Always keep a secondary option! I totally agree. Revis should NOT be returning puts. Remember what happened to J. Sehorn a bunch of years back? He was never the same for the Giants.

    Peace!

i said during the game that i never wanted to see him return a punt again. i don't care if he is secretly the best punt returner in the league i never want him to return punts ever again. he is the most important player we have on defense and is truly irreplaceable.

I completely agree. The Giants a few years back had a valuable defensive back that they had returning punts and he got injured and was never the same. I can't remember the guys name.

That was on a KR. Some of the best Dbs in the game have been great PRs such as Deion sanders and Rod Woodson. Revis is a playmaker and w/ leonhard hurt they looked for him to give them a spark. It didn't work out but I was ok w/ it.

He should never return another punt in the NFL.

yea with leonhards thumb revis was returning punts. And yea revis should not do it because if hes injured im going to cry but if you care about protecting our big D players then why not complain about Leonhard returning punts hes been one of our best. Maybe rhodes should return punts im sure he would love to stand in the backfield getting all the attention to himself. Maybe striking a pose before he catches it.

I nearly shit myself when I was racing home to watch the game and the radio broadcaster said "Revis back to return the punt". Please don't do this Westhoff.

actually I was more dissapointed with his returns than anything. It was like you could see his thoughts " phew I caught it! oh shit what the hell do I do now? Oh hey look a hole (scurries that way) shit it closed, lets go that way.. Ahhh! *dives to avoid big hit*

It's clear whatever magic Revis had returning punts in college is long gone. get the man outta there. I can only assume that the waiving of Carroll today is going to result in the addition of a return specialist.

I flipped out when I saw Revis in there for the return.

NEVER. EVER. Under ANY circumstances, should this ever happen again. I'd rather muff every punt than see Revis trying to return. I have never cringed like that during a game before.

Terrible and STUPID decision to put him in.
