vs brady and collins we blitzed the crap out of them and won the game when our defense needed to step up. The only time we got pressure on Garrard today was from blitzes, so why did we sit back then?
This is the thread that hits the nail on the head with regard to today's game and the reason for the loss. With all that happened before the last 4 minutes, the Jets had a one point lead and the Jags had the ball on their 15 yard line needing a FG to win. At this point, they did not have a single first down in the 2nd half. It was time to pin the ears back and get after Garrard. The Jets should have been sending 6-7 on every play. Instead, we get 4 and sometimes 5 man rushes, no pressure on the QB and a loss. Even the pass to Lewis made no sense. If Rhodes is up on the line of scrimmage, then blitz him. Don't drop him back into coverage from the line when the TE is already inside of him. Take a look at how the Bengals blitzed and pressured Pittsburgh on the Steeler's last drive today. Rothlesberger had no chance. That is what should have happened today against a team that has pedestrian receivers and a QB that has been harrassed all year. The first play of the game was not the reason for the loss, nor was it Sanchez or Edwards or the play calling or all the other stuff people are writing. It was all on the defense's inability to stop the Jags with the game on the line and the passive defense the Jets played on that last drive.
The Jets beat the Texans, Titans, and Patriots doing the exact opposite of what they did at the end of the game today. I do not get the switch.
Yea, we sometimes back off blitzing when we are afraid of the run, but you can't be afraid of the run when the other team is on their final drive to win the game. Defense can't play scared.
teams run the screen on us alot more. causes us to have to change the playcalling up. at least that was the logic behind it
Holy shit. Can you stop posting that video? This is literally the seventh time I've seen it posted by you today.
