Not the Same Old Jets

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by xxedge72x, Nov 15, 2009.

  1. The ONLY positions we're young at are head coach and QB.We have solid to elite level established starters at every other position. But It's still the same shit we've been seeing since the 70's.

nice try w/ the optimism..but game over.

new and improved SOJ in my opinion. You could not design a better way to incite anguish and frustration in a fan base than our last 6 games.

We need to stop playing "close games" and just turn the rookie loose and go for the jugular. This team is not good enough, or clutch enough, to win a close game. We fare a much better chance of winning by rolling the dice and hoping that Sanchez has a good game.

Pack it in and start dreaming about draft day.

  4. Mangold and Jenkins (when healthy). I would also argue that brick is an elite level pass protector.

Yeah this loss sucks dick but I did predict an 8-8 season for reasons such as today's game. This is a young team.

Jenkins wore down last year and is probably two years out to done. Don't count on him at 360 his knee surgery is major.

Brick and Mangold are very good but elite doesn't hold on the edge in a big spot running play.

If some fans want to view this as "the team has a great future" and continue to make excuses for this shitty franchise then so be it. It is not being a darksider for a fan to bash this team right now...They are underachieving and continue to find ways to lose a game. It is definitely the SOJ and if you want to think otherwise, you are in denial

right now they're the same old jets...........

i think we still have a bright future though. this is certainly a team that can get better but it won't matter till next year.

depending on the cap situation/free agency situation.

only thing that worries me is the age of the d-line and the o line positions outside of dabrick/mangold.

And chances are Tanenbaum will trade more picks away. Priority #1 is a legit pass rusher, whether it's on the line or an OLB. I don't care.

I want two OL, another WR (Get Edwards out of here), and maybe a CB.

We lose games to inferior teams, poor game management, players (Edwards, Rhodes) doing shit to lose the game. Same old Jets.

For all the arguments of SoJ being all potential and no delivery, you're skewing the fact that you can't logically declare this SoJ since we haven't actually seen the future yet. All we've seen is the right now.

My expectations were way higher than what this team is delivering, and I'm very disappointed in that.

However, it's foolish to just make a knee jerk reaction and assume "well they lost, therefore SoJ". Bullshit.

SoJ was Testaverde injuring his achilles in 1999. SoJ was Pennington tearing his rotator cuff at the end of an otherwise glorious season. Those were promises of tomorrow that were never delivered.

You can't pass that judgment on a team that has not had tomorrow yet. We still have a rookie head coach, and even more importantly a rookie QB. Look through NFL history, most of the great QBs in the NFL struggled in their early seasons. This is not an argument that Mark Sanchez is destined to be one of the greats, but it is an argument that he's not already "SoJ".

This season is a bust, no one can possibly disagree there. At this point, the best thing that can happen to this team is they begin to learn from what they're doing wrong and develop. The foundation of this team is in place and it's going to be around for a while. Like it or not, most of what you see is what you're going to get for a long time. And in that case, there is NOT reason to panic.

The Rex Ryan program is early in its life and it's far too early to tell where it'll go down in the Jets history books.

I know everyone here wants to win now, I understand that as well as anyone. I nearly broke a glass object today when Edwards fumbled after the Jones-Drew turnover. We're sick of waiting, we're tired of not being champions. I get it.

The results of the season thus far are not a reason to throw yourself over the side of the cliff. Have some faith and enjoy what little the team allows us to enjoy moving forward. The future is still bright here.

Only a few people actually think the Jets are destined to always lose - even when people throw the "SOJ" around they are mostly referring to the team as it is now. At this moment the team is the definition of the SOJ, but that doesn't mean they can't learn how to win.

There have been some brutal loses in my life as a Jets fan, but this year has had the most in one season I can remember. Worst part is there are still 7 games left. Future is bright, but only the Jets could play lights out defense for the entire second half, then when they needed a big stop, just absolutely crumble. I feel like there is no other franchise in sports that is more heart wrenching to root for. I know there's the Cubs and the Red Sox before 2004. It just seems like the Jets have more heart breaking games and promising seasons. This loss stings, bad......

It's football, it's not the same old Jets. We aren't a good team, good teams find ways to win the first Miami game, the buf game, the 2nd Miami game and today's game. bad teams find ways to lose them and right now we are a bad football team.
