I am getting a lot of hints from the Jets FO that this will be a evaluation type season. What I mean by saying this is that this year will mainly be for studying the players and seeing which ones fit and dont fit in our system. I feel once the new FO knows our team better they will spend more money on bigger name free agents. Dont forget this is only my opinion for all I know they could be preparing for a SB run.

The jets are going to be like the pats(which i hate because belechek has no personality and talks on only 1 side of his mouth lol) now and that doesnt mean signing bug name free agents now we are either going to draft or sign great pplayers and with good coaching they will become those big name free agents

Before we can determine who fits our "system" and who doesn't, we'd better be damn sure exactly what our "system" is gonna be. I don't think this CS knows exactly what form this new "system" will take so they won't be able to make a determination until they're sure this system actually works in real game situations.

I really get the impression that this FO/CS will be totally different than Herm/Birdbrain Boobway. The old regime would pencil in Martin/Chrebet/Pennington/Marvin Jones for the whole year NO MATTER WHAT. The old guys would play for sentiment sake if nothing else. Mangini was interviewed by ESPN during the draft and said the best players will play...period. I don't see them waiting the whole year to decide whose good and whose not--they give me the impression that while they will look at everyone, they will play those who prodeuce NOW...not in the past.

I hear ya...I'm sure they will get a good idea what they are working with in training camp but they won't really know what they have until about week 4 of the season.

It will definitely be an evaluation year. I agree with Cman though - what is our system. I still haven't seen anything regarding what kind of offense we will be running? Now that the draft has passed this is my number one question. Are we west coast? run heavy? pass heavy? Can't seem to find answers anywhere.

I think that the FO knows what our system is-there just not telling us-we wouldnt just sign players and draft them arbitrarily-we must have had some kind of plan and the decisions they made were for a reason-they are getting players for the system-not a system based on the players
