can I respond??? 8-10 posts in here that have to do with the playoffs talk about our wild card chances. I don't think bringing up a post that addresses the fact that perhaps our playoff hopes rely in what happens in the next 3 weeks, actually for that matter the next 5 DAYS. A NY win and NE loss and a week from Sunday we are playing for 1st place in the division. It is simplistic, yes. Is it more feasbile and important then our wild card chances yes, so I believe it warrants being addressed. If it was so obvious how come all the talk is about wild card.
Here is the fatal flaw in your simplistic reasoning. The Pats don't have 3 games left and neither do we. The last 3 games on our schedule is Atlanta, Indy and the Bengals. The last three on the Pats schedule is Buffalo, Jacks and Houston. Should we actually take a 1 game lead after the next three, we are very likely to give back 2 games in the last 3 based on the same logic. The Jets actually had the scenario you wanted last year after the NE game and we pissed it away. The Dolphins have the easiest schedule of the three teams and the tiebreaker with us. Stop worrying about the playoffs, enjoy the games and the growth of our rookie QB. If in the end we get to 9 & 6 and have a shot to back in to the playoffs through some crazy scenario than we can all go bat shit.
However, Unless Indy is undefeated, we're likely to be paying mostly backups. Particularly if Rex goes Blitz happy early.
Lets beat the Jags first. I am not drinking the Jet kool aid anymore. The dark side is back. They are 4-4 and so are we so why is this considered such a winnable game. its gonns be a battle, plus the Pats are gonna beat the Colts.
Indy could just as easily have 1 or 2 losses and being playing for home field advantage in which case they will look to stomp us early. This thread is really a wish about the Jets getting control of their own destiny in the division. I credit this quote to Jetstream23 from another board.
let toddisgod make his threads I enjoy reading them while sitting in class. without them im bored and still disappointed about the jets.
We DID meet at the Manhole! We were both standing outside waiting for Rex Ryan to come out so we could get his autograph.
Winston I am discussing the next three games based on the fact that I find football enjoyable in my life when the Jets are relevant. If Sunday breaks the way I would like it too we are the game of the week next week. We get all the talk on NFL network etc..... As a fan of the Jets I have found solace in them doing what it takes to play in big games. We win Sunday, NE loses we have a big game to get pumped about next week. As far as the end of the year, that will all play out. I want to see us stick our nose in front again so that we can own the back of the paper and be included in the conversation. Of course the dream is to make the playoffs and win it all, at the moment I am living week to week and I like the potential scenario setting up over the next three weeks. Does that make my thoughts simplistic that I feel to view the whole season, perhaps. Its ok though I hate 4-4 right now and being a afterthought, I want that feeling back when you are in the hunt. Our best chance to get back in the hunt is what may take place in the short term.
You are fighting a losing battle my friend. The masses would rather post in threads titled: Drum roll please! Golston not in practice Happy Birthday Mark Sanchez Titains uniforms Out of the box MVP candidates other than joe namath The Jet you have the most difficulty rooting for Ok, which one of you posted the ken o'brien comment on the joe montana story Jets should have picked josh freeman. The list goes on and on. Like there isn't a thread that could be called stupid in the titles listed above. Forgive them if they can't step out of reality and soak up a little out of this world thinking. I for one think it would be f%$king awesome if the Jets won the next 3 games and the hated pats lost their next 3. If by some miracle that plays out every Jets fan will love it too. We as fans of the Jets should all hope that it will work out this way for our beloved Jets. It reminds me of another thread that was posted on this site. Not Same Old Jets- It's Same Old Jets Fans
