always knew he would be something big, my fin fan friend would always laugh at me for saying it and then the same bastard took him in fantasy last year and he kicked ass.

As for abe, what the hell is wrong with you people, i guess there really is a big fan base for underachieving, me-first, whiners.

Adam Veniteri (however you spell it). His first tryout in the league was with the Kotite jets but he got cut in favor of Nick Lowery. I don't blame Kotite--who knew that Adam who kicked for South Dakota State was going to be that good?

Ray Mickens. Good leader, solid teammate, very versatile. Got shafted by Herm/Bradway in favor of T. Law. A shame.

    I miss that Jon McGraw.

He was such a shut down safety...

Man, you'd think he'd just accept his 7 million dollar signing bonus

I'm not saying you're wrong but I've never heard of any tryout for Vinatieri with the Jets. The story as I've always read it is that Vinatieri went undrafted in 1995 and had decided to manage a swimming pool when a buddy put him in touch with placekick coach Doug Blevins, who worked with him on a flaw in his approach with his plant foot that affected his accuracy. Blevins then helped him get a job with the Amsterdam Admirals of the World League. After the season was over, he was invited to an NFL combine in Atlanta where he met Parcells and signed for a tryout at a NE camp. He beat out incumbent Matt Bahr for the kicking job and ended up in the Super Bowl in his rookie season.

Everytime Moss made a great play my brother and I would scream...SANTAAAAANAA...MOSS!!!!!

I really miss that...a lot. The Jets traded away my favorite player...MOSS. I'm still not over that. They betrayed him for Coles. Basically I'm trying to say is...WE SHOULD STILL HAVE BOTH PLAYERS SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO SIGN MCSUCKIANS TO OUR TEAM!

    As a Penn State Alum:

Kareem McKenzie - Solid RT and will be for years

Kyle Brady - Call me crazy but he's a solid TE (like a 6th OL). Good hands - not so much! Just think of all of the wack-a-doodle TEs we have gone through.

  17. Aaron Glenn will always be a fav. of mine.

No it wasn't. His salary was killing this team. It was a good move. And I really liked Aaron Glenn.

Being from South Dakota (as I am), we saw him kick in high school and college. He kicked for Rapid City Central high school and South Dakota State. The story they put out here is that he had a two day try out with the jets in 95 (Kotite), and was cut. The rest of the story unfolded the way you described. It is the past, no big deal, but we've heard that he had at least a very short initial tryout with the jets.
