So much attention has been paid to the college basketball stars trying to jump to the NFL, but the New York Jets have a slighly different idea: Gang Green has invited current Rutgers track star (shotput/discus) Sam Segond to tryout for the team....Segond hasn't played football since high school, but he recently ran the 40 yard dash in 4.78 seconds at 6' 3" and 295 pounds at a Pro Day.

I wonder what position, maybe DE. He looks like he is mostly muscle too.

Another guard prospect maybe? The Pats turned a College Wrestler into an O-Lineman, and Brandon Moore was originally a DT. I think you can teach a guy O-Line if he has athleticism and size.

You don't waste a guy who can run a 4.78 on OG. First of all, he would have no technique, so he would get destroyed and so would the QB. Second of all, he's undersized for an OG. You take him and put him at DE. He's got prototypical 3-4 DE size/speed.

Then again, he won't make the team anyway.
