1st half he looked awful. He looked afraid to let it go. He look terrified to turn the ball over. He was missing wide open receivers because he was trying to make passes that could not be picked off. Once the Dolphins went up by 2 scores it seemed like he just said "Fuck it, I'm just gonna let it go...if they pick it off then they pick it off but I have to make plays. I just wish he would do this the entire game. Easier said then done but he played so scared in that 1st half which could have been the difference in the game. We all know the real reason why we lost but aside from that.
His fear is justified. He has no idea where the ball is going to go when it leaves his hands. At least in the 2nd half the balls were close enough to the targets where his receivers could make circus catches to get on the board.
I think it has to do with the phins rush....I'm getting a sick feeling watching the phins back off at the end of games. In the NFL you CAN'T stop with the pressure and expect to stop a drive..when QB's have time they pick you apart or get PI calls...end of story. The dolphins really tapered off on that final drive..shades of the Wanny era..enough to rattle me...
He seems like a very streaky QB. Against a team like the fins with a piss poor pass defense we should have been trying to get him in the groove early. Instead we tried to "ground and pound" against one of the best run D's in the league.
When was this? When the Fins DB was falling down allowing a 60 yard gain on a 5 yard pass to Cotchery? Or when Edwards was hauling in a terribly thrown ball 1 handed while reaching around the DBs back?
Yeah that TD pass to Edwards was all Sanchez. lol Dropping all the way back to the 30 yard line on 4 and 12 from the 15 yard line was to just make a TD that much better if connected. He is a Rookie that isn't ready to be starting. He will be good, but his stats look good today because of his receivers. Oh he finally throws the ball to Cotch, and he runs for 50 yards after the catch.
Sanchez showed he had heart and will to win. That was GREAT to see. The rest will come soon enough. He showed he can still be the future today in the second half.
Sanchez was the least of the Jets concerns today- yeah he had a bad 1st half but he was on fire in the 2nd half. 20-35 for 265 yards and 2 TDs, and 1 rushing TD? That's a line that a lot of QBs would love to have. Blame other facets of the game for the loss today.
You know how I see this? When you take the ball out of his hands and become a run team, you force him to be streaky. He's had obvious shitty moments, but from what I've seen today and many other games, he can get in the end zone. I always feel like they're going to score a TD in the EZ. That's not something you can teach.
guess you ruined him by playing him too early. He hardly even played in college. That's just plain dumb. Now we have film on him he is easy to defend against
Easy to defend against? These were his stats: 20-35 for 265 yards and 2 TDs, and 1 rushing TD He and the offense owned the Dolpins D the second half. If you are going to talk smack and least try to do it with a little intelligence. Are you done trolling the board yet?
I was being sincere. It was great to see Sanchez progress to the point where he was able to deliver balls that receivers were able to get their hands on, as opposed to the wide open incompletions, with no pressure on him, that he was firing all day before that.
Are you fucking retarded? Mark Sanchez shredded the Dolfag's defense in the second half... Teddy Ginn won the game for Miami.
I have to agree with you. His accuracy has eroded steadily as the season has gone on. He did seem to perk up today, but his passes are all over the place. It took exceptional catches by Edwards and Keller to keep us in the game. 4 out of 5 times those passes are incomplete. Got to hit the guy in the numbers once in a while.
He has 2 and a half problems: 1) He stares down at the recievers and throws it to them even when it's clear they are on a double coverage [big problem but with experience he'll learn better] 2) Schotty's play calling is probably the least rookie friendly possible. [fire Schotty] half) Needs to protect the ball better, every game he fumbles or someone rips it off [coaching and time will do the trick]
