WR: We could use another option. I like the Cotchery-Edwards-Clowney trio, but we need depth. OT/OG: Some depth is needed... Faneca and Woody's ages have to be considered too DE: I don't think Marques Douglas is the long term answer, although he's been solid NT: This is a big one. This defense isn't the same without him. I'd consider a first round pick. OLB: Unless Gholston steps up, we need another pass-rusher or pass-rushing specialist. CB: Even if Lito comes back, we could use another backup behind Strickland. We can never have too many DBs, especially after all the injuries this team has seen at CB
if there is a NT who can match Jenkins production in the 1st round like Cody and he cannot be reached due to draft position, I'd trade Jenkins to get there. His knees are now shot on a man who will be 30 next season. Only if Jenkins was healthy would he be able to play until he was 38 at that position. But he's breaking down. Its the most unpopular thought I've ever had, but it may have to be done.
Anybody considering the RB position? With LW down, the RB situation is very uncertain for 2010. We have no assurance, that LW will be back in to his normal shape. He will be vulnerable to more injuries and may loose some explosiveness. Are we due to some compensation if we dont resign him? TJ is having another good season but is up for BIG money. And might not be worth it after this season. You guys think that SG will be ready to carry the load with a FA backup? Dont know if there are any good ones we can acquire.
to be honest our medical staff will be able to tell us by March 1 whether Leon will be able to go 100% and be his normal usual self. I would think since it was a clean break that he certainly will be. That said, I think it is pretty clear Jones has at least one more elite season in him. With the year being uncapped I have no problems paying all three guys, and then letting greene and leon lead the way in 2011. we don't have the draft picks to use any on a RB. This whole draft needs to be about the lines, preferably defensive, where we bring in quality OL depth in FA.
I'd like to see us not draft a single player that weighs less than 300lb. Our lines have a lot of age/miles on them. We need to add in some youth in a hurry.
bingo. As much as I'd like to see CJ Spiller catching passes out of the Jets backfield....we have more pressing issues....like our lines, and our secondary.
My post was over a month ago, before Leon got hurt. I still don't believe RB is a huge need, maybe take a flier on Smith out of Arkansas in a late rd.
