http://www.nfl.com/stats/team NFL.com has Jets listed as number 1 team in NFL in the rushing game. Ranked 17 in Offense overall Ranked 10 in Defense overall numbers pretty solid Does anyone have our stats at this week from last year? Just curious to see. edit: Bad news is Dolphins ranked 2 in rushing and ranked 4 at stoping the run..while we are rank 20 something at stopping the run...... If we expect to win next sunday we have to make every tackle.
the stats from last year have Jets at top 10 offense and bottom 20 defense. last year has nothing to do with this year.
Awesome stat. We will need the running game a lot next week. We have to control the clock and keep our defense off the field
Actually the best way the stifle the Miami run game is to get a big lead on them and make them rely more on the pass. Miami has a decent run D but their pass D is brutal. We should come out firing and try to establish a quick lead.
Not only are they #1 in rushing, the have the #1 rusher in the league in YPC. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...d-447263-s=RUSHING_AVERAGE_YARDS&d-447263-n=1
we are also the #1 team in Rushes Attempted. being in the top 5 usually indicates a winning season. its been proven. EDIT: last year, the Ravens and Falcons were 1 and 2 in rushes attempted, and 3 and 4 in passes attempted. They both had rookie QBs, they both had winning seasons. they were also healthy teams
Lets not read too much into this because of two very lopsided performances. We could probably go the next two games with rushing for only 50 yards each and we'd still be in the top 3. Consistency is key here. Let's hope that we can keep the ball rolling and beat those b1tch a$$ phins at their own game.
This is the all-weather team Rex wanted, our running game will only help us more and more as the weather get's bad. Shonn Greene's north to south running style is going to be a hell of a lot of fun to watch in the snow and rain.
Too bad we weren't ranked #1 in rushing before the Bills game, maybe they would have just given us the victory. It's good to finally see the o-line take it to the defense, it should be a good 2nd half to the season.
We were day dreaming about that today. Me, myself, and I were playing the "what if" game - like what if the Jets were able to rush for 300 yards against MIA and do it with the Seminole and ram it right down their fucking throats like they did to us... ahhh.
