Some Jets fan in Arizona just called into Gil Brandt and Solomon Wilcots on Sirius and first he was unable to think of Shonn Greene's name, then he called Sione Pouha "Simone Pool". He also said we had run for over 700 yards the last 2 weeks. He knew Washington was hurt and knew DeVito's name...so not totally clueless, but Solomon corrected him on the RB's name and the yardage number. Do you guys think Pool and Flanagan will be going up against eachother in practice a lot this week?
I think Pool and Flanagan will become HOFers. I'm buying both their jerseys tomorrow. Flanagan's wife is pretty hot.
That drives me absolutely nuts. It's really not a big deal but it really irks the hell out of me. Here are all the mispronunciations I've heard over the years from supposed die hards: Abrams (John Abraham) O'neal (Neil O'Donnell) Pendleton (Chad Pennington) Clemson (Kellen Clemens) Cowher (Sam Cowart) O'Brien (Doug Brien) Ugh, I'm gettin aggrivated just typing it, lol. Don't talk Jets football we me if you don't even know the QB's name.
What were they calling Pouha during the game yesterday? I think they were calling him Poole or Puhl or soething else that sounded a lot like-- POOL.
Hell, the announcers took the pains to let us know that Danny Woodhead was a WR coming in to play RB late.
They try to pronounce it the proper Samoan way. Before the Texans game, someone posted a link to a Jets media guide that had all the proper pronunciations...and his name is a tough one...it's even hard to spell phonetically. It's pronounced something like "Pah -oo-ah.
Hahahahahahaa I just read this thread and then looked at twitter: # Braylon Edwards 10/26/2009 09:10 PM ET Takng my qbs out on the town. Great guys all of them wish Kellen was here # Braylon Edwards 10/26/2009 09:11 PM ET Clemmons that is nice of Braylon to bring the guys out but looks like he has some problems with the names too
Here's my assumption of what a "night on the town" with those guys would be like. I believe that the reason Kellen is not there is because he's a deeply religious guy who has been married since he was like 21 and has no interest in 1. being out on the town with bachelors who will be drinking and picking up women, 2. being part of a group that contains Sanchez (one of new York's top new young celebrities) and Braylon Edwards (a #1 WR who I imagine fancies himself a ladies' man). OK, so: Braylon and Mark: a few drinks and chit chat at dinner with Eric and Kevin. Later they break off as the ladies take notice, have a few more drinks and work their game. By the end of the night they can take their pick in the females dept. May or may not leave with one. If I had to guess, Mark goes home alone, Braylon doesn't. Eric Ainge: Not talking all that much at dinner but is part of the equation. Drinking faster than the other guys. Ends up getting hammered. Goes home with a chick because Braylon and Mark tell her who he is and talk him up a bunch. He may not remember it Wednesday at practice, and the guys on offense will have a good laugh. Kevin O'Connell: Equal part of the conversation at dinner. Doesn't lead the charge in the picking-up-girls department, but ends up getting residual attention from the ladies....at some point mentions that he played for NE and gets asked about Tom Brady...maybe more than once. Probably gets laid. Kellen Clemens: Bible study, Dancing with the Stars, cup of tea, bed.
