Embarrassing? So losing to the best team in football and only giving up 10 points on defense is embarrassing? Putting up 27 points on the road with a rookie QB coming off his worst pro performance was embarrassing? We get beat by a good team who runs an unique offensive scheme better than anyone in football.

The only embarrassing game was the Bills loss Sunday, and it wasn't even that bad. They didn't shred us, we just had a to watch our rookie QB have a horrible day. We still almost won that game.

As klecko has rightfully pointed out what SOJ has always been is bad management compiling a record of failure one year at a time. That failure of management doesn't mean new management can win overnight and the building process can be foregone. It doesn't mean our rookie QB doesn't have to play and develop as a quality NFL QB. It doesn't mean that last years failure on D was just scheme and that a new scheme and new players take time to develop and more players will need to be evaluated and changed to go forward.

What we should be happy about is that we have a young franchise QB who has shown flashes and can develop. That our D with all it's personal issues can attack but still has personal issues. That when we needed a weapon at WR we have a GM who went out and got it done.

Tannenbaum is learning but he has shown some guts and made some mistakes. Rex has to realize that he's the HC not just the DC and take ownership of this team.

As a fan I always think the team can win on game day and see all the issues and problems when we lose. This team is in transition this rebuild may well fail but the process has to happen and no amount of fan entitlement or pressure to win now because of a new stadium is going to change that.

SOJ is - IMO - lamented by the fanbase with the intimation that the Jets are cursed and some sort of other mystical force is at play. I fully admit there has been years of futility as you indicated. But I do not be the Jets are cursed, just the end result of poor management. IF you use the moniker SOJ to describe that, great, but most people talk is if there is a black cloud of inevitability floating of the team's head.

After being let down year after year...

After being lifted up and believing the JETS are going somewhere, they don't.

There is a true, deep down feeling that we're always going to be one step behind, that we'll suffer a devastating injury, that the play just won't be good enough to win the game...

But..... We still hold on for the light at the end of the tunnel, why else would we pay so much $$ for games and for Sunday Ticket just to watch away games? Because we believe that there is a chance we will go to the promiseland. Look at the playoff game against Denver, we were that close. Came in to the next season still riding high and then bam Achilles injury.

The SOJ mantra, slogan, description is unfortunately very true to a fan that watches this debacle year after year.

Player wise, CS wise, FO wise, no not the SOJ but the goddamn losing and the feeling of getting the wind knocked out of you ALMOST (not every year (part of the SOJ description - the constant roller coaster ride)) is the the SAME.

Don't forget Gary Myers! That twunt has been using his connections with the Jets to get on NFLN to 'talk' about the Jets and it never fails... always plugs his stupid 49ers book.

I have tried to stay off the forums until all this new "woe is me" mentality goes away, but it is hard too.

At the beginning of season everyone was guessing a .500 record and a learning year for Sanchez and the new system. And no one was really crying about it.

Now when I get on the forums, the dam sky is falling.

The Jets are going to be just fine this year and win it all next year. So everyone needs to just calm the f**k down.

I had to get that out. Peace

Great posts! We as fans do not need to focus on the negative as that adds more energy to it. IMHO what we focus on grows!

Good point against the saints except the QB handed them the game with a performance so bad it was comical. And I do believe they should be humiliated by their performance against Miami and Buf.

Sorry they are the SOJs because they are failures year after year. No matter if dear old Leon or I want ur money Woody owns then they are still the SOJs cause this year is just like last year & last year was just like the year before that & so on & so forth

Hopefully you are not naive enough to think that the Lion fans do not think the same about there team or the Chief fans think the same about there team or the Charger fans think the same about there team so on & so forth?

You never mentioned or took the time to find out why the Steelers won 6 SBs & the Niners & Boys one 5 each while we won a measly 1 over 14,000 days ago. Do you not think that the Chief fans are just as frustrated as us? or the Hawk fans? or the Lion fans? or the Brown fans? or the Bengal fans? or the Charger fans? They are all just as frustrated & POed as we are & they to want nothing more then to win a Championship

The press is correct that the 09 team are the SOJs because they are following in the footsteps of every NYJ team since the 1969 season ended & we crashed & burned to the KCCs @ Shea

The SOJs cry will not stop until the ownership/coaches/players become a top shelf NFL elite team & win a few SBs along the way

Sorry to tell U those are the facts concerning the SOJs cry

I didn't mention why the Steelers or 49ers or the Cowboys won all those Super Bowls because the answers are obvious:

They have superior management from the owner on down and each one of those teams had a franchise QB - Steelers with Bradshaw & Roethlisberger, Cowboys with Staubach and Aikman, 49ers with Montana and Young.

The Jets will not get rid of the SOJ moniker until they find a franchise QB to take them to the promised land. HOWEVER the Jets are NOT/NOT the same SOJ because of any curse. They have sucked because of poor ownership and management that has not put together a team and a coach of a Super Bowl caliber winner.

NOW - the Jets may just be putting together a defense, with a coaching staff that MAY get it AND may have the right stuff with a young franchise QB. Is it concrete that this will happen? No, but after a rookie throws 5 picks, there is no need to jumping off the Empire State Building.

Anyone who had delusions that the Jets were going to win a Super Bowl this year are simply that - delusional!!! If you want to call the end result as SOJ, that is your right, but there are no mystical forces impacting the Jets play this year. They are probably going to finished 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7 - and will only go as far as the rookie QB can take them. Once Sanchez catches up (and I am confident he will) this team has the pieces to be a force in the AFC.

You see each game - specifically each loss - this year as another brick to reinforce the SOJ wall.

I see it each game - wins and loses alike - as bricks being laid in the foundation of a potentially very good team during the next 2-3 years - maybe even a Super Bowl winner, because we MAY have answered the biggest on the field question at the most important position of QB.

This has to be one of the best posts I've ever read on this forum. Nice job, klecko

And I agree with every word of it. I couldn't add anything even if I wanted to.

SOJ fans? I think not. I was at the Pats game and the Bills game. Neither had SOJ fans written on it. the jets start 3 - 0

    Loss to NO:

Not a SOJ loss. Defense did its job and our rookie QB had a rookie game.

    Loss to Miami:

Had hints of a SOJ loss. Defense totally shit the bed unexplainably and lost at the last second But not totally a SOJ loss since the Jets and Dolphins on Monday night is always interesting. Only thing SOJ about it is Rex Ryan's decisions down the stretch.

    Loss to Buffalo:

SOJ! All the way a SOJ loss. Jets set a franchise record for rushing yards in a game, hold the opposition to under 20 points and still LOSE. And the way they lost, even more makes it a SOJ loss. there is no way around it.

This team cannot be labeled SOJ just yet. If they lose the next 2 games that is SOJ no matter how you spin it. And I'm considered quite the sunshiner. But lets be realistic. The fans react to the team.

Anyone tagging this team as SOJ already is just defeatist. But the warning signs are certainly there.

I don't believe in booing your own players at games.

I do believe in criticizing them AFTER the game though. But not during.
