Idk if anyone else saw this but he said we still had a shot at making the playoffs. He mentioned how Joe Flacco was 3-3 and Matt Ryan 4-2 after 6 games last year with rookie qb's. He also mentioned how we were 3-3 last year with Favre(where we should have made the playoffs). I think we still have a shot at this thing guys, and even though the loss of Jenkins hurts I think that if the rest of the defense steps up we can still be an above average team. And if Sanchez can play anywhere near he did in the first few weeks then we definitely have a shot.

That way of thinking is far too rational for this forum.

of course we still have a shot we are one game behind the pats for the division and hold the tiebreaker over them at the moment. all it will take is 3 well played games for people to have the jets as super bowl contenders again.

Works for me, and I absolutely say that we are very much in this thing and we still have a realistic shot at the playoffs as of today.

The next 2 games will tell us a lot.

Well most on this board feel the season is a lost cause for some reason. I think even if we get a quality win this week against the raiders most of them will be back on board for the playoff run.

The difference between 3-2 headed into the Bills game with a healthy Jenkins and now is that we had a legitimate shot at 11-5 or maybe even 12-4 and walking into the playoffs with a swagger. Now we might sneak in at 10-6 if everything goes just right, but it'll be the typical Jets 10-6 and out.

I'd rather they do that then miss the playoffs but anybody who thinks the Jets still have a chance at being a dominant team this year is probably wrong.

I see it differently... the Jets still have a ton of weapons across the spectrum, but between the injuries and the carousel of letdowns across the team the Jets have looked poor the last few weeks.

However, look at ALL of our losses and you'll realize just how close those games were despite EVERYTHING that went wrong.

The coaches need to get everyone on the same page... if they can do this, the Jets can still be a VERY dangerous team, even without Jenkins.

I think what happens over the rest of the season will be more of a testament to the coaches than to the talent on this team. Things are down right now and it's on them to lift the team up and get it rolling again.

I still think the Jets are a very good team and that it'll show at the end of the year.

Rex, Schotty - the ball is in your court.

When the Giants and Coughlin won the SB, there was a time the very same season when most fans would have loved it if Coughlin was fired.

If there is one thing Herm ever said that was true:

    It was...
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME.

Too bad, he played not to lose.

Mike Pettine also. The Jets must find a pass rush somewhere here or they're toast on that side of the ball. Can you imagine the Jet's D that has shown up the last three weeks going against Tom Brady? 59-0 would not be out of the question.

Coughlin made adjustments in regards to some of his rules after his players voiced some concerns and they returned the favor by playing their hearts out for him.

The thing I like about the Jets is that we are always in the game no matter who we play. The thing I hate is that the other team is also in the game no matter who we play.

we loose Kris but we get Braylon.
maybe our offense gets better and we can outscore people, play good enough defense to win.
We could sneak in a wildcard but don't count on it. Too many good teams in the AFC and you can count on those teams with more depth and more experience probably taking away those playoff spots. I like to be optimistic but its hard right now.

All i want to see is mark developing and Tanny acquiring more draft picks so we build more depth. especially pass rushers.

That's the definition of an organization with an ineffective strategy for winning big in the NFL. The Jets have been casting about for an organizational personna and strategy to go along with it for most of the last 40 years. They haven't settled on anything for long enough to build it into something that other teams fear and don't like to play.

    4-3, 3-4, 4-3, 3-4. Cover-2, M2M, Cover-2, M2M. Flex offense (Weis), WCO (Hackett), Misdirection (Schotty), WCO (Schotty/Favre), Misdirection (Schotty).

Basically the Jets just kind of throw something against the wall for a few seasons and see if it sticks, followed by an inevitable change of coordinators/coaches and something else getting thrown against the wall.

It's like the Redskins-lite with the only difference being that the owner doesn't stick his nose in the door every Monday with helpful suggestions about what the gameplan should be for the next Sunday.
