For some odd reason this loss isn't killing me...

Because now its clear to me that this isn't an elite team at all... Good teams win games they are supposed to, its as simple as that. As much as i hate them look at the giants, they tear through weaker opponents. I will be the first to say that through the first 3 games i was buying into a potential playoff run but right now the way they are playing this team isn't going to make any post-season.

There is no game on the rest of this schedule that i feel "good" about because this team will find ways to lose. Im not even trying to sound like a darksider because i will be there every home game cheering my ass off anyway but my confidence in this team is very low. Plus now with the possible season ending injury to jenkins i just don't see anybody stepping up to replace that kind of presence.

I guess we just gotta see what happens, thats all you can do anyway.

we all predicted 7-9 wins. A 3-0 start made us think 12 wins. The team is now hobbled. A lot of teams go through this every year. it happens.

At least we're not the Titans? Once it's obvious we're not going to go to the playoffs it's a lot easier to watch losing games. I still have hope that Rex turns this team around though. So the next couple games could be really hard to watch if we end up losing.

I Can live with this but just the fact that we got a great defensive minded coach and we all started to believe for whatever reason then we start out 3-0 then we lose 3 in a row and 2 to shitty teams. I Am disapointed. I should've known better. An for those who are thinking we will get back on track next week by beating the Raiders, When was the last time we went to Oakland an actually won ?

I think that the only question about next week is HOW we will lose to the Raiders. Bad game by Sanchez? Raiders run all over us because we don't have Jenks?? Not sure what sort of meltdown we're due for next.

The loss of Jenkins is huge. The Jets better get their running game going to keep that defense off of the field. Leon / Thomas has looked fantastic so far, ride them horses.
    Let Sanchez manage the game.

Yeah, the team seems incapable (after the Houston game) of putting together all aspects of the game. As somone said when was the last time a team got over 300 yards rushing and lost?

Until the Jets can get consistency from all aspects of the team, they are capable of losing to anyone.

I think that we have a potential elite defense, even missing Kris Jenkins. These guys are still new to Ryan's schemes, but the schemes are so effective (for the most part) that the learning curve is far lessened.

But anyone going into the first 3 weeks eating up the hype and thinking that this would be an all-around elite unit was deluding themself. I have to admit, I had my moments wondering if all the pieces were going to fall into place perfectly for this season. But the fact is, we have a rookie QB learning the hard way, starting from week 1. He made mistakes in the first 3 games, but they didn't kill us, and we were able to come away with a W.

Now we are facing teams that have film on this kid, and he is a rookie with rookie tendencies. He will probably be exposed more often than not, but he's also smart, with great tools and leadership qualities, and he will get better. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

We also have a brash new coach who is also a rookie, and he's making HC rookie mistakes. Those mistakes are more easily corrected, especially with guys like Westy and Callahan to help him along. But sometimes I with Westhoff still had his cane - so he could walk over and slam it over Schotty's head.

Make no mistake, the true glaring weakness of the New York Jets is the Offensive Coordinator.

The Jets have spent the past 3 weeks coming back to earth, and now they need to get down and serious about the future. Fantasy time is over. The reality of our situation is here.

great post, Abyz....I'm on board with everything you said....especially the part I bolded. I wanted Schotty gone after last season....the B.S. that went around in the offseason, saying Schotty was being held back by Mangini....well, now we know the real story.

Why the fuck would they have him train Sanchez to his scheme if they are going to fire him? Pretty dumb rationale but the Jets did this. The last thing the Jets need is Sanchez learning a new system.

The front office needs to find a guy with a VERY similar system but one who calls plays differently.

to be honest....I'd be happy if they gave Schotty his pink slip...and promoted Callahan to Offensive Coordinator.

Who said they were going to fire him? Not I. Just that he sucks. You want to know Rex Ryan's biggest rookie mistake so far? Let me give you a hint - it has nothing to do with referee challenges or timeouts or press conferences.

Rex's biggest mistake so far is bringing back an OC who had a LOT to do with the 2008 collapse of the New York Jets. But they have joined Schotty and Sanchez at the hip now, so we have him for probably the next 3 seasons for better or worse. I can only hope that he won't be hanging Sanchez out to dry like he did so obviously yesterday against the Bills.

The most maddening thing about that loss was that the Jets absolutely should have won the game in overtime, even with all of the terrible interceptions. If not for repeated penalties (most notably Hartsock's crippling hold) the Jets still come out on top.

Clearly there's a lot of work to be done, in all parts of the team.

How can you blame Shotty for 5 ints by his rookie starting Qb, with a #1 WR who's been here a week ,and in shitty windy conditions.

Yeah , Mangini's got an offensive juggernaut in Cle and he's alreay flipflopped Qb's - yeah he wasn't the problem.

The 2008 collapse of the Jets had to do with one person - and he's playing for the Vikings now. If you think that offense last year was Shotty's your sorely mistaken . The whole offense last year was dictated on what ol grey beard wanted to run

That's a load of horse shit. Brett Favre did not give up on the run, and Brett Favre did not make the offensive game plan during the weeks leading up to the game.

Scapegoating previous players and coaches is not wise, and you're going to realize the truth at the end of the season when retard Schotty is still wrecking our team's chances with his idiot gameplans.

Because that idiot is calling the plays!!! Why would you "dial up" passing plays when your opponent couldn't stop the run. Schotty pulled this B.S. in previous seasons too.

i agree with bigmehl our offense was great when favre was great. When his arm was healthy we played wel. As the year went on he fell apart and so did our offense. Favre was as big a reason we failed as was mangina
