Today was his chance to have a big game, and he came up miniscule. He hasn't just been bad, he's been completely terrible. He's by far not the only problem today, but damn, he is absolutely terrible.
It's a team effort on the offensive side at this point. Sanchez has lost his confidence, Keller has been invisible, the play flow has been absolutely miserable. I think Schotty really needs to re-examine his basic assumptions at this point because he is not running a productive offense at this point and has not been all season. The defense has carried this team all season and now they're hurting and won't be able to continue to do that. One other thing: this team stopped playing well when Ryan stopped blustering. He's been quiet as a churchmouse since the Jets headed into NO and the whole team has deflated.
As I said, there are other problems on this team, and he's far from the biggest, but this thread is solely about the ineptitude that is Dustin Keller. Now we know why he's been invisible for weeks.
he was awful in today's game....but not as an overall player. I'm not gonna throw Keller under the bus yet. If anybody deserves blame for the offense....it's Schotty.
There is something wrong in Dustin's head. He looked out of it today and I posted last week he gave up on the intentional grounding play in Miami.
that was one of the worst games i have ever seen a player play. I hope he can redeem himself, but so far in his young career, he's left me with far more doubt then optimism. I hated mangini, but maybe there was something to him benching Keller last year.
He has looked out of it all year. There is no chemistry with him and Sanchez. Half of the balls thrown his way, he isn't turned around for. The other half he drops them. Through 6 games, they should be getting to feel more comfortable with each other and its not happening with him.
Accept the fact that it is Schottenheimer..it has always been schitty..He just doesn't know how to call plays.
run game was great pass blocking was good for the most part WR's non existent Sanchez awful Keller looked like a deer in the headlights Jets just ain't as good as we thought.
This was by far the worst performance of Kellers career. Dropped passes, false start, not even attempting to catch the 3rd down pass in OT??? C'mon, man!
How is it Schotty's fault that Keller can't run crisp routes or catch the balls? He looks lost out there like the speed of the game is overwhelming.
Schotty coached a HORRIBLE game, no question. But again, this thread is about how awful Dustin Keller is. Today was his day to prove himself as a weapon in this offense, and he completely failed. He didn't even stop at being a non-factor, which is par for him. He actually hurt us by being out on the field.
The Schotty sucks thread has to start elsewhere. This is the throw Keller under the bus. Then again, if you threw Keller under a bus, he probably couldn't catch that, either. Mental mistakes and lack of effort from this guy are embarassing.
Rex needed to do something on the sidelines to his offense, because by the game's end everyone but the running backs was mentally brain dead. You could just see in Sanchez and Keller's eyes how much they knew they sucked.
