Just a fun thread on a Saturday, but what is more disappointing to you as a Jets fan? Not getting the chance to play Eric Mangini and the Browns or not getting to play Brett Favre and the Vikings this year? This is a tough question for me because I would love to beat both so bad. Obviously beating the Browns would be much easier because they are not very good, but the chance to beat Favre or even hit/sack him would be awesome. I think because of that I would rather play Favre and the Vikings just to get the chance to beat him. Both guys (Mangini/Favre) could be one year wonders with their teams and we won't even get the chance to play them again.
Yeah, I think me too, but how great would it be to get an easy (possibly) blow out win vs. the Browns and getting to see shots of Mangini looking mad and chewing bubble gum on the sideline as the Jets march down the field with ease? Haha, see? Its a tough call.
Mangini, hands down. This team would destroy the Browns. Also, I would not want this team going against the Vikings and their defensive front (which of course includes the beast that is Jared Allen). They would eat Sanchez and this o-line alive.
I have no ill will towards either. Mangini has gift wrapped a couple of nice trades for us and I'm a Favre fan.
I really don't dislike either guy. As much as Mangini has helped us this season, he might actually deserve a standing O in NY. I would rather we play the Browns, as I think the Vikes would be a bit much to handle right now. It would be enlightening to hear about 'The Process' in Mangini's post game though...
You have got to be in the minority on that one. Mangini has surely helped us with Sanchez and Edwards, but it shows how dumb he is. I will never forget how poorly he coached the Seahawks game (and most of the games after Tennessee). And sure, Favre's failures and Mangini's dumbness brought Rex Ryan to New York, but I still strongly dislike both. One can hope.
Yea the coaching was terrible down the stretch, but now we have Rex, Sanchez and Edwards. I think we're in a much better position because of his short comings. So I applaud him. Mangini also helped build a pretty solid roster while he was here, even if his coaching was ass.
Thats a good point really. Mangini is the one who switched from 4-3 to 3-4. Mangini brought in (with Tanny's help) Revis, Jenkins, Pace and Harris. So the defense was already set up for Rex Ryan's scheme. That is huge.
yeah Favre cause he needs to learn some modesty...by having David Harris crash his skull into the ground
stop hating on mangini hes helped us out enough already on the browns. I vote favre just because someone needs to put a hurt on him. I dont understand how people forgot how shitty he got late last season, if the vikings go to the playoffs hes going to need a cane out there to keep him standing.
You guys really need to be careful what you wish for... you were all salivating last year over the prospect of playing Pennington twice a year and the guy led his team in a win over us that put them in the playoffs and helped send us packing. Stop being haters and be thankful for what we have because some of it is because of both of those guys. Had we not traded for Favre and then have him quit on us, we may not have ended up Sanchez... who I believe Mangini had something to do with, as well as other moves we made while he was here.
There is nothing wrong with hating on Mangini and Favre. Maybe you guys didn't watch the final 5 games of 2008.
I'm so glad we don't have to play that mess in Cleveland this year. I hate games where if the Jets lose it's terrible and if they win it's expected. There's no fun to be had in watching those. I haven't given up on playing the Vikings this year just yet...
That's one thing I don't really get... he's not good on the field, but he's great when picking up players; then he makes a couple of awful mistakes in this very area that ends up working great for the jets... I think he really loves the green.
