I know that I was in a coma during the 2007 season. I opened my eys once when Camarillo made the catch that won the Ravens game for us and then drifted back off.....
No, anytime they lose to a team they should beat after a bunch of hype and promises, that is when the doubts start. Very few people were bitching after the New Orleans loss. This loss, however, has SOJ all over it.
I don't remember hearing as much smack talk from the Jets prior to the Saints game. Maybe it's just something about our rivalry that gets to both teams?
Most people looked at their records and stats and made an assumption from there. I'll be honest, I looked at Miami and thought it would be a slaughter based solely on the fact that our D looked so dominant.
No, anytime the Jets win a few games and a bunch of people on the internet start threads about going to the Super Bowl before mid-season, it has SOJ written all over it.
I actually didn't watch that game. I figured with our D holding what were billed as pretty strong offenses to such low scores, plus our so-called best pass rusher back in the lineup, that the Jets would hold the Fins to less than 14. Though, I had an uneasy feeling the rest of the night after that first drive. I think that game highlighted some facts about our D: They are neither overly fast or overly strong so if they end up against a bigger more physical line or max protect, they're pretty much screwed. Hats off to the Fins. I hate when teams say "we didn't play <team name here> football" Like the Titans after losing to the Jets last year...."we had an off day"...bullshit. man up, the tape shows you got beat.
At least we are not spending money for billboards calling for a house cleaning or wearing paper bags on our heads like the hapless Jill fans.
I don't find this loss acceptable at all. This was a bad loss. The performance of the defense throws it's quality into question.
I think what disturbs me most about the defensive play last week was that just about everyone didn't show up. I could see one or two guys having an off day but the whole damn defense was just unprepared. Good thing is I don't see Rex letting that happen again.....which is why I think Buffalo is in trouble this week.
Jenkins did have a good game, but you're right for the most part, he can't do it all himself. Jenkins played his off!!
if anyone played a good game on the jets it was #57, bart scott...that guy was EVERYWHERE. i've watched the game 3 times and have replayed a lot of key plays many times....this guy prevented LOTS OF DAMAGE. jenkins was not that effective, in my opinion. he disrupted the line a couple of times but many of those times the run wasn't even headed in his direction. on the other hand, some runs went through him including the last touch down run (even though he did end up putting a hand on r.brown). the thing you got to remember is that jenkins wasn't against a very talented guard or center. against jake long he got owned.
His job is to take up space and let others make plays, also take out as many guys as possible. He did that very well. I saw 2 guys on him very often.
