Figured with all the gloom and doom and bashing, I lighten the mood...And wish a Happy 67th to a coach who brought us a 1-15 season. 4-28 overall right?
thankfully i'm too young to remember those two years. he was only successful in Philly because he took Buddy Ryan's team and pulled a Herm Edwards with them, then lost 7 in a row down the stretch, then came here and continued to suck.
for a guy who was too young to remember you sure seem to have an opinion. "During his first two years, Kotite led the squad to a 10 and 11 win seasons in 1991 and 1992 respectively. His 1991 defense, coached by Bud Carson, led the league in total defense, run defense, and pass defense. In 1992, the Eagles finished 8-0 at home and earned a Wildcard berth; they defeated the Saints 36-20. In 1994, the Eagles began the year with a 7-2 mark; Kotite told the media that he was going to investigate his options following rumors that new team owner Jeffrey Lurie was not going to renew his contract. The timing proved disastrous, with the Eagles losing all seven of their remaining games."
Is it just me or has this loss made everyone a lot more hostile towards each other? Happy Birthday Mr. Kotite.
nothing there said anything disproving my claim. He had Buddy Ryan's team, which was very talented, and then lost his last 7 games as an Eagle. that's what the paragraph alludes to.
What is your problem! Are you seriously telling me to shut up? You? Who do you think you are? I laugh at your lack of knowledge. That should be an exclamation point not a period, idiot.
I went to every home game during that 1-15 season. If you might remember, the one game we won, was AWAY in Arizona. I sat through some wretched games that year.
Murrell's 199yd performance. O'Donnell getting sacked 12 times in the first game before being pulled for Frank Reich. O'Donnell reinjuring his hamstring in warmups and missing the rest of the season. Keyshawn's first touchdown, ripping off the helmet and acting like he won the Superbowl. Chrebet with 162yds receiving vs Jacksonville (I was keeping up with the game while driving to Canton to see the hall of fame, I'll always remember) and we still lost. Converting Kordell Stewart's college backup to cornerback and starting him vs Tim Brown all in the same week. And in the end, Kotite says he didn't quit and he wasn't fired. I lived through that, and I'm still here.
yes i believe the hamstring odonnel thing was against the oilers. I remember it was a fucking monsoon that game and NOBODY was in the stadium. Yet after half time, the two biggest fat loads of a couple ive ever witnessed chose to sit right next to me and eat about eight pretzels. (mind you i was about 7 years old at the time and these fuckers were HUGE) I remember being up against new england that year 21-0 (roughly) at the half and them coming back to beat us 28-21 or something like that. What a fucking year. FUCK YOU Rich Kotite.
i just got off the phone with Kotite, he said when you make it to the NFL as a player and then become the head coach of two NFL franchises, lead teams to playoff victories and go 28-13 during a 41 game stretch then your "fuck you" will mean something to him, in the mean time you can stick with your fantasy league.
It was hard to realize it at the time but Rich Kotite was GREAT for us. if not for Rich being so bad and taking this franchise so low then leon hess never gets Bill Parcells and we just continue that cycle we were in.
