Everyone says how mobile Mark is...but he seldomly scrambles. We got a glimpse of it in the Titans game but in the last two games, he's taken sacks he could have avoided by taking off. I'm not saying I want Vince Young or Vick style of play, but I mean sometimes he needs to pull the ball down and go.
i'm not gonna disagree, but it might have something to do with his horrible ball handling. i mean, he probably has been told to keep the ball tight and limit the amount of fumbles so that might have somethign to do with his thought process of not running. clearly speculation, but he doesn't really, or i should say he hasn't really protected the ball too well recently.
I would have liked to see more designed roll outs. He has always excelled with those, and throws an excellent ball on the run. I have a feeling they asked him not run north south as much. He still has to work on protecting the ball AND his body when he does.
You make an excellent point. Though, his lack of ball handling skills, shows vigilance, which would make one question why he doesn't take off because taking off requires vigilance.
Their were plenty of opportunites where Sanchez could of tucked and roll out since Miami was so hell-bent on stopping the run. Schotty has to notice that. But as a whole that's just nit-picking.
you got crotchery and edwards and keller and now you're asking sanchez to run ??? against the miami secondary??? i thought WE were hard on our QB ........
Just some rollouts dude...Considering how bad the OLine was last night...rolling him out would of bought him more time to throw down field.
I don't think it's nit picking at all. We want a well-rounded QB who can threaten a defense in everyway possible. He has taken shitty sacks which could have been avoided (hypothetically), these are valid issues.
The man was sacked, what, once last night?! Yeesh... Sanch moved extremely well in the pocket last night.
What pocket? At times the pocket disappears in 2 seconds others (including a few last night) it was there forever, the pass protection is suspect, IMHO.
There certainly were times when he could have run, but I don't think he needs to be tuckign it away whenever nobody is open. He has some speed, but he needs to learn to let play develop and let his WRs come back to him. Also, our O-line isn't exactly giving him time to find the 4th and 5th option (ie. WRs breaking off routes). Did anyone notice that when he ran for that first down, he decided to go for 2 more yards and take a hit instead of going out of bounds?
Dude, you're contradicting yourself. Sanchez didn't have a pocket, took only one sack, but didn't move well in the pocket? What the hell happened then? Levitation?
Just last week people were complaining that he locks into his 1st read too much. Now we want him scrambling? He'll begin developing a bad habit of tucking-n-running if his 2nd read isn't open. Let him stay in the pocket and shade away from the pressure, all while he makes his progressions and makes all his reads. He'll get sacked more than he needs to, but trust me, he'll be a better QB because of it in the long run.
I'm saying the pass protection is unrealiable, therefore he should be prepared to run to avoid sacks/injury...
I'd much rather Sanchez focus on being a pocket passer than try to make something with his feet. He has the ability to move, but that's really something only injury and age can take away.. while developing his passing game is something he needs to work on now. And he HAS been mobile.. there were a couple opportunities these last 2 weeks he could have run, sure, but for the most part he's been making great decisions in that respect.
He's got good pocket presence. He scrambles around in the pocket but doesnt run with the football as much. I'm sure as he gets more comfortable he will learn to use his mobility more.
