An elite pass rusher. Pace is nothing special, Ellis blows (has for a long time). The only person who gets pressure on pass plays is the friggin DT Jenkins. We CANNOT get any pressure unless we blitz. Its pathetic and its been this way so far this year.

PS: What the hell is Lowery doing giving the WR that much space when he is in the damn end zone. Crowd him you dumb ass. Cant wait till we get Shephard and Strickland back to replace this guy.

the wildcat fended off our pass rush. We were too off balance to pass rush. Hats off the the fins coaching.

Wild cat or not, on obvious passing downs, with no blitz, Henne has all day to throw.

this is the NFL, not madden. You cannot have superstars at every position. We have elite talent in the secondary (Revis, Rhodes), LB (Scott, Harris) Dline (Jenkins), Oline (Mangold, arguably Fergason/Faneca), WR (Edwards), and up and coming RB, QB, and TE. The rest of our team is serviceable. We need to make due with what we have, and Pace & Co. should be good enough to get the job done

Sure, we have to make do (obviously), but this will not be a complete defense until we get a better pure pass rusher. There are a bunch out there. Unfortunately, we dont have one.

    You are right

Miami found a method of neutralizing our blitz (in some sets) and used it well. The other factor was the heat/time on the field. Late in the game Miami was beating us straight-up with Henne. The sky isn't falling, but it sure hurts to lose this one.

I agree that we are in serious need of a player that can create pressure when we're rushing four men, but they've needed that for a long, long time. I'm not going to say it's our biggest need, because I think bulk/youth on the DL is first, but I'm officially for finding a passrush specialist to line up at OLB some downs in the rotation.

Yep, unfortunately we havent had that player since John Abraham left. I dont see the Dolphins beating us at home. Jets will want revenge for this laugher of a game the defense played.

MEMO TO TANNENBAUM: HOLD ON TO YOUR PICKS...you've got gaping holes along both lines.

I agree with you. Lowery is always trailing a receiver during a big play..... and he is not using a trailing technique. We have some weakness in our defense, that is why we blitz so much. It worked during the first few games but if we do not shore it up good teams will take advantage. Hopefully, we can get Shepphard and Strickland back. Only use Lowery in emergency situations only. Scott and Harris were missing some initial tackles tonight that led to big runs.

exactly, you cant have all pros at every position, this defense has enough talent to play at an elite level, and this game showed the complete opposite

Passrush was not the problem today. The wildcat kept the D totally off balance. Frustrating to say the least.

BS. I used to live in south florida, and it was nighttime and 87 outside. This wasnt a 1oclock game in 93 degree heat.

The hell it wasnt. It was a huge difference. Henning dropped back a ton when it wasnt wildcat. The Jets typical 4 man rush couldnt even come close to Henne. A sack here or there with a possible turnover could of made the difference in the game. The Jets cant just blitz 6-7 people every passing down so they have to find a way to get some pressure with their front 4. They were absolutely schooled tonight.

When did we really have the chance to rush our pass rushers ? We were on our heels the whole game. The Wildcat was unstoppable against us tonight and i believe we should of done alot better when they were in a basic formation and really we still couldnt stop them and henne looked amazing but there wasn't many chances to rush but i agree when the few chances we did have we were stuffed. Its a tough loss but lets just wait and see how we bounce back next week.

the dolphins were rarely in an obvious passing situation. even in their 2 minute drill they were running wildcat formations. They controlled the tempo of the game (2 TD drives that lasted 8+ minutes each) and did not get into bad situations. We did fairly well on 3rd downs (except the designed roll-out), and especially 3rd and long throughout the game. The Dolphins just had a solid strategy

they never gave the jets chances to blitz as they ran the ball so well and did not have many 5 step drops every play was a run or a 3 stop drop and if its a 3 step drop u can go unblocked and still not sack the qauterback maimi called a great game and it was clear that the intensity we had when we played for patriots was what they had for us, while we reacted like it was going to be a cakewalk for the first miami possesion we got beat in the trenches not only were we unprepared to stop the wildcat, to win we needed to make miami one dimesional and force henne to throw but we were forced to pick our poison as they picked up constant yards every play. It was an allout pathetic performance but honestly i think it was just one bad game we cleary didnt want to win as much as they did i thought our offense look good and cant wait til lito and stick our back also every 3rd down we down an allout blitz and this became predicable and miami was 9 of 14 for that season as they used quick passes or screen even the sprint right that got them inside the 5 during the game winning drive
