Does this question matter? No, not really, but it's still interesting to think aout. Who ends up having better stats in the last 12 games, the shiny new Braylon Edwards or the reliable Jerricho Cotchery? For purposes of this poll, let's focus on receiving yards as the barometer.
If Braylon has more yards that means he over performed and is great for us. Because we know mr. consistent will show up the rest of the year
I think Braylon's presence will only open things up for Cotchery. With a legit threat on the other side, imagine the YAC Cotchery will rack up!
Cotchery will have more yards when the season is over. His hands are true blue and he has a lag up on chemistry with sanchez.
As long as Cotcery's injury isn't too serious I'll go with Cotch since he will get more single coverage...and he knows the playbook better and has chemistry.
From this point on, I'd have to give the edge in yards to Cotchery. But I'd be shocked if BE gets beat out in TD's by someone. It's a contract year for him, their aren't many dominant CB's in the AFC East other than Revis, he should win a lot of balls in the redzone, at least I hope.
Cotch has more yards.. Edwards has more TDs.. hopefully he can be that huge red-zone target we have been longing for..
Ha! I like the sentiment. I agree that these guys could both compliment each other very well and might both end up having career-type seasons. Let's hope so! I have to agree with most of the previous posters though that Edwards will probably be the go to target when it comes to the endzone. Edit: I voted Cotch. More catches and more yds but less Tds.
Cotchery Edwards still is going to need to learn the playbook and get in sync with Sanchez. The only way I see Edwards having more receiving yards is if Cotchery's hamstring becomes a lingering problem.
Cotchery will still be the #1 weapon the Jets. Edwards is only going to serve to inflate Cotch's numbers.
I went with Cotchery. Not because i think hes a better receiver but for these reasons 1) Teams are going to pay more attention to Braylon leaving Cotchery more open. 2) Braylon will do well with us but he still has to gain that chemistry with his QB. Its not even about the system to me. Braylon has played in a very similar system with Cleveland and is way ahead of the curve. Either way i love our receivers. I just hope Clowney gets more time
