If this guy enters the supplemental draft how would you feel about selecting him with, say, a future 4th or 5th round pick? He has experience in Virginia playing the 34 under Al Groh and could probably play OLB in our scheme, complementing Thomas as our edge rusher. Considering Miami used a 5th on Wright last year, 4 or 5 sounds about right. Of course there are other concerns with Brooks, but this might be too good an opportunity to pass up. Any opinions on the guy?

I always liked him when I saw him play.

Why will he be in the supplemental draft?

Unless there is a character or injury issue which I am unaware of, I would be okay with using a 4th round pick on him, maybe even a 3rd.

By the way, I like the avatar. I'm a big Lynch fan.

There's a huge character issue, look at what he has done.

Possession of marijuana, no big deal...I'll look past it, but he was kicked off of the UVA team.

For all the talent he has, the size, the speed, he doesn't give top effort all the time...

Basically I don't want him, long story short, and I don't think he is a Mangini type (aka high character, team leader).

Lynch is nothing short of electric. If ever there was a year to address RB, next year would be it. Besides the obvious mention of Adrian Peterson, and the already mentioned Marshawn Lynch, guys like Michael Bush, Alley Broussard, Justin Vincent, Kenny Irons, and Mike Hart all have the potential to be franchise backs at the next level.

Sounds like a Nick Saban type of player. He'll be a Fin within the next year.

Okay, then I definitely do not want Brooks. I am sure the Jets will not even consider him.

I watch most televised Tigers games.
I like Irons the most. Vincent might be alright in the pros. If Broussard can return healthy, he could be good, too.

He's got top 10 talent, but with 2nd day character.

He's no Marcus Vick, but we got plenty of LB's, he's a MLB, and we don't need him.

Not even close to top 10 talent-he has been known to be lazy and take plays off-well then again maybe the Texans will use their first round pick next year on him too

He doesn't play outside linebacker and is certainly not suited for it.

Not to mention you just said that Barton was not suited for it, yet you want to put Brooks whom has played WILB all his career into the role? Nosir.

He played ILB at Virginia but I certainly think he has the ability to play OLB here. We discussed this yesterday. Brooks is a superb blitzer whether it be from the inside or outside and is a very well rounded player overall who could certainly make the transition. But I believe Barton is a completely different player who just had one ultra-special year in Oakland and has never since shown us any flashes of blitz ability. Again, I do not think Hobson is the ideal fit either, but I definitely think hed be a better fit than Barton

  15. I strongly doubt this regime would take a chance on Brooks. For one, the character issues and secondly he has had some injury concerns.
