Hey all. One of my foster brothers has a 4 year old daughter, Novalie, that needs a heart transplant due to Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. They have medical insurance that will cover much of the transplant, but there are still about $65k in uninsured costs associated with the procedure. Navalies aunts have contacted an organization called COTA to assist Thanh and Kathy (my brother and sister in law) in seeing these uninsured costs reimbursed, but it cannot happen without our help. Please donate whatever you can to help this little girl and her family get through this awful time. I'll answer any questions you guys have as I can, either in this thread or via PM. I can tell you that we are holding several fundraisers around the Rochester area, and we're working on getting this onto the local news as well. You can donate money at http://www.cotafornovalien.com/. Thanks to Petro and Mack for letting me post this here
You should try to contact Mark Sanchez's people. I'm not sure if he has his charity yet, but this might be something for him to support. Just a thought. Best Wishes for Novalie
A brief search found that former Jets Marty Lyons, Bruce Harper, Herm Edwards and JoJo Townsell as well as current Jet Tony Richardson all have charities but none specialize in children with heart issues... I also know Paul Frase and Boomer have foundations but these also deal with more specific issues. Honestly Jay Feeley seems like the kind of guy that would get behind something like this... he seems like a really good guy and also the kind that would try to help a small child in a situation like this. I wish I had some connections to help you out with but I don't have my contact with the guy I knew that did charities here in Vegas anymore.
Here is a direct link to the donation page Thanks for the donations, guys. We just threw a birthday party for her 5th birthday, and she had a great time. Strange to look at her running around and having a great time, and knowing how sick she is. She told me she has a boo-boo, but you can't see it because it's in her heart Ugh.
I need a few more posts to see the link. I have a 4 yr old also. Couldn't imagine going through that. I will make a thread about this on finheaven and thephins.com. A lot of good guys (and gals) who can help.
Thanks MP. She just had a doc appt, and the tests weren't very good. Her heart is failing her. Eventually it has to, as that is the only way to get on the donor list, but it is still hard knowing that it really is coming.
