I thought that this new Jets team was going to feature a LOT of Leon Washington touches, you can't give a play maker like Leon just 4 rushes. We need to use our most explosive and best offensive weapon on this team more.
leons been getting a ton more carries and hasn't done much with them... the running game as a whole has been very dissapointing
Yes but today was the day we needed him most and we didn't use him, and Thomas "2 Yard" Jones still has about 20 more carries then him.
tj is the kind of back you need to give the ball to. if we don't he will positively never get it going. i think the whole offensive approach has been influenced by the early sanchez craze...the jets need to get back to the run first mentality which will get leon more carries and maintain tj's
Agreed. I feel that we were just getting too cute with the play calling... TJ is a workhorse workhorses need their carries to be effective..
Washington, and really our whole run game in general, is made a lot less valuable when Jones isn't getting touches and yards. Additionally, Leon needs space to make plays and with Sanchez sucking and the Saints keeping 7 or 8 guys in the box, that space wasn't there. The offense needs to at least keep the defense honest for Washington to be effective, and they weren't able to do that today. Hopefully the good guys draw up a better gameplan for next week.
Wouldn't it be nice if Thomas Jones was not a Jet and we could just hand it off to Shonn Greene and Leon?
good thread. i totally agree! playmakers need the ball to make plays. why isnt our seminole as successful as miami's wild cat? brad smith??? leon's size?
Shone Greene looked pretty good also. Glad to finally see him on the field. Did he get hurt towards the end? Thought i saw him limping off then never saw him again.
