For being the first QB to lose a game when possessing the ball for 45+ minutes.... I gotta say...that's a shock........NOT!. Gets ball with 3+ minutes. Runs one play..Takes timeout with 2:20 on clock. Then throws pick to end game...(imagine that)..... I'm getting verklempt.....discuss among yourselves....
The pick was bullshit, any QB in that situation would have thrown that pick I thought Pennington played relatively well last night, too bad Ted 'probably should have taken Quinn' Ginn sucks
Penny has always managed the clock and drives particularly well. It was off that they were dragging so much ass in that last series. I'm not sure how much of that was Chad's doing. For all we know the OC could have been in the box going through 13 years of play calls looking for something that coulda, woulda worked. It was un-Pennington like final drive at least in terms of how it was managed time wise. And when you put the football in your WR's hands in the end zone in the final drive.. the fuk-nut has to catch the ball. Ted Ginn needs some stick-em even it makes it look like he's been jacking off elephants.
Not when the ball is 10+ feet in the air. Ginn was at full extension on that ball. It was thrown from 30 yards out, because he cant drill it between tight coverage inside 20.
He had the ball for 45 minutes....and LOST. Let me reiterate..... 45 MINUTES (now granted the defense did not help him out)..However... Go back before you reply...and let me know how many touchdowns he scored in that 45 MINUTES. It might also be interesting to note how often inside the 30 they TAKE THE BALL OUT OF HIS HANDS......
The same people making these threads were probably the same guys who thought Kellen Clemens was a NFL caliber QB
It's probably because his passes took so long to get to the receiver, easily three times as long as Manning's throws. It's amazing that his passes have enough velocity to get anywhere at all before succumbing to the force of gravity and dropping to the ground. But yeah. The 3:1 ration explains why the dolphags had the ball for so long and lost. Either that, or Pennington throws an interception during the two minute drill on a weak out pass.
Agreed, Two missed TD catches or Chad beats the Colts. Why the need on this board to try to disparage a guy who gave everything he had to the jets and was told he was no longer needed. He's moved on, maybe the fans need to also.
:rofl2: The announcers were marvelling that the Phinphags try to pass it in from the 30.. (Something to the effect of "The Dolphins don't wait to get to the red zone, they start taking shots from the 30...." Of course they do. That's the last point on the field where you have enough distance between defenders to throw it arc pitch softball style. Inside the 20, they go Wildcat.
Agreed. Chad has his limitations, but come on, Ginn's drop in the end zone was awful. Chad put it right on his hands and he didn't make the catch. Remember how we all killed Coles for his drop in the Seattle game last year? McCariens in 2007 for his drops vs. Baltimore? This one by Ginn was equally as bad. I really don't get all the Chad hate. The guy played hurt and played hard for us.
Not really hate so much as the feeling u have for an old girlfriend that you cared about, but she refuses to believe u r broken up.
nothing made me laugh more than when Mike Tirico said "this is the slowest 2 minute drill ive ever seen"
The worst 2-minute drills I ever saw were led by rifle-armed Vinny Testaverde in a playoff loss at Oakland and Elvis Grbac in a playoff loss vs Denver.
Right in his hands??? The guy was at maximum vertical jump, full arm extension and got his hands on the ball. Putting it right on someones hands is what Favre does. Putting in the air where some might be able to get it...I'm sure you see the difference.
I take it you missed MNF this week? Get the ball back with 3:15...run one play.. call T.O. with 2:20, down 4...
You didn't need to read anything into my post. I was clearly stating that I've seen worse 2-minute drills than the one I saw directed by Chad Pennington on 9/21/09.
chad is gonna have many long scoring drives cuz he has a noodle arm. how many out routes to the sideline for 5-10 yards did he hit all night?
He's a starting NFL wideout. Now the measure of whether a ball is catchable if it is thrown to the reciever so he can keep both feet on the ground? Clark was at maximum vertical jump, full arm extension and got his hand hands on the ball, just like Ginn, except Ginn blew the catch. I'm sure you see the difference - Ginn sucks. So when Montana makes that throw, he's a legend, but when Chad makes the same throw and the WR drops it, Chad's a bum? (No I am not saying Chad is in the same category as Montana as a QB)... I'll give you the last word.
I gotta agree, WRs have to bring the ball down sometimes... it would be different if Ginn went up full extend and then the ball grazed his fingertips... Penny has to put the ball where the defender can't get it, and Ginn, having the ball hit him in the hands has to come down with it. Chad does pretty well considering he lacks the offensive tools he really needs. They got a gimpy running game, and their receivers are nothing to write home about. The fact he's playing for a win in the final two minutes is pretty good considering how many here think he's so awful. :breakdance:
