Fox Sports gives us an A+

    1. N.Y. Jets: OK, they passed on Matt Leinart and didn't make a serious trade offer to move up to grab Reggie Bush, but they had a very good draft and took a solid quarterback prospect in Oregon's Kellen Clemens in the second round while rebuilding the offensive line with first-round picks D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Ohio State's Nick Mangold, who should replace long-time center Kevin Mawae. Some scouts said that Clemens ran the Texas-style offense better than Vince Young did. Huh? Buckeyes LB Anthony Schlegel has a very big upside and rookie head coach Eric Mangini loves the receiver upside of former Missouri quarterback Brad Smith. Plus, with all the trading, they picked up a second-round pick for next season, too. Grade: A+

I saw that, I give it a "B"...A+ is sunshiney as hell. Another site will have the Jets as a C-, good to read it all though.

    Wow dude A plus?!?!

Outside of Eric Smith and that TE from Wisconsin, we had a very good draft.

Props to Mangini and their first draft.

Didn't make a serious offer for Bush? They wanted THREE first rounders! At least they didn't hold that against us.

With extra picks for next year and the fact we didn't sign some hot shot that wants 50 mil but still got a lot of talent I think we are in the A- B+ range.

The TE from Wis is going to be a good blocking short yardage FB with good hands. I like that pick but Smith and the Qb now Wr I'm not real big on but I want to wait and see what they look like in pre season.

Dont really know how we can get a A plus when we drafted nothing but a special team player in the third round in Smith... you cant draft special teamers in day one.

Also we drafted a TE who didnt even start for his own college team and is slower than a dog who has no legs and his blind.

In the third round your not going to get a college superstar with hype. You get guys who can play a role that you want, hopefully the FO has a plan for the picks that work. The TE is not going to play TE he will be a FB and have you ever seen how fast you can roll a blind dog with no legs down a hill?

that is very supportive of the jets, u drafted a lb who cant move and a hell of other "questionable" picks, i never doubt Mangini but i wouldn't say u have the best maganagement. nether the less i just read a thread saying worst draft ever?

Lmao . Nice comment. That grade was very nice of them, I think they gave that because they believe we have made the moves to be the best in a couple of years.

Bing and ko simpson had hype and were still available, michael robinson had "hype" (in college) , you can get a player with hype in the 3rd round- brodie croyle is an example.

Saying Schlegel has a big upside ruins this analysis.

    Hype doesn't always equal quality.

I'm happy with the way things went. I won't give it an A+ only because we didn't net Bush. I think we could have got Bush + Mangold giving up Schegel, Ferguson and Clemens..

Maybe that's a steep price to pay for Bush. Good news is our OL has 2 studs on it now. Kendall can also still play meaning we have Moore who is adaquete and Jones who is a pilon to replace.
