In this thread I see everyone saying it's no big deal and discussing the Titans game. Didn't see the other one.

Been on this board for about a week now. Some good posters here, but I find it extremely ironic (and hysterical) that you're talking about having no class.

This must mean you know Belichick personally... I mean, only a complete and total idiot would be presumptuous enough to know that he can size a guy up from what gets fed through the media. And you're not an idiot... are you?

That's true, I'm wrong on that. This thread hasn't been as bad. Sorry about that.

None of us know BB BUT he did walk out on the jets after taking a mil dollar bonus from leon hess, he did cheat on his wife, he did cheat on the field. Maybe he's classy? I don't know but what we do know about him I wouldn't say he's full of class.

What happens if a news article comes out about the Jets tampering with Crabtree?

    "The media sucks!"

    "This is a BS article!"

When it's your team in the negative light (and by "your team" I don't mean just the Jets... applies to all), the media is crooked, dirty, and has an agenda.

Yet if it's not, they're 100% correct, accurate, and do a great job? Point is, you're getting your information from a source, and you always have to look at that source critically.

FTR, Belichick did not take bonus money (that I know of, and I've studied his career a lot). Yes, he cheated on his wife, but I'm pretty sure that decent people have, throughout the course of human history, had issues there. And take what you want from "Spygate."

Is he warm and fuzzy? No. Is he eminently likeable, like Tony Dungy? Absolutely not. But he's a football coach, not a kindergarten teacher.

As an example that hits home... I heard Ryan say, "I wish we were playing them" in reference to the 49ers tampering allegations. Know what? To me, a non-fan, that came off as arrogant, over-confident, and classless. See? It's all about perception.

I like you... you are clearly a Pats fan with a good sense of humor....

I'm gonna explain it to you since you are new around here. I've been on the board for nearly 6 years and there is this almost surreal fascination to Belli. We all hate him , that's pretty clear but it's like that guy at work that everybody hates because he is a royal asshole so when he does something wrong you can't wait to prove to the world what an asshole he truly is even though everybody in the office already knows what an asshole he is... it's almost like a pride thing. Guys on here feel we have to one up each other in proving what an asshole the guy is when every Jets fan knows what an asshole he is. I myself have fallen victim to this game but generally only look for good funny posts when entering the Belli did this thread as I need no further proof to know what a steaming pile of monkey shit the guy is.

My guess however is if the Jets start to beat the Pats regularly there will probably be some threads over at the Pats board that say Kerry Rhodes said this.... or Rex Ryan ate 4 grease truck sandwiches at Rutgers type stuff.

We have seen multiple tampering allegations and none have been proven. When they are proven I'll be disappointed but what the jets are accused of and what BB was found guilty of are 2 very different things.

I'm not naive to think that the Pats were the only ones doing it BUT BB was warned by the league and he kept doing it anyway.

It's really odd because we all are wearing the Green Colored Glasses but if the Jets ever get to the point that the Pats are at in terms of being the standard (for a few years anyway) I could really see a real backlash towards this team because of the brashness and attitude. Honestly people either love or hate a winner but most people hate winners that talk trash. I've sat and watched this team suck or just not be quite good enough for most of my life (I've been following these clowns since Richard Todd) and honestly we only know the hate by the media because we've stunk or we're not the Giants,Pats.... but just once I want to be hated because we are good and are contenders. If Ryan has his way we are going to be the team that everybody hates which is fine with me as long as we are winning SB's and doing it fairly.

I hope we get to the point where opposing fans hate us b/c we are always winning. hatred can also be a sign of respect.

That was my point...nobody on this board (except maybe those in New England) cared about the Pats when Vic Kiam owned them or when Pete Carroll was coaching them. All of a sudden they get really good and have a smug coach and everybody hates them.... I want that to be the Jets.

    Well that's what I mean.

There are other NFL fans who are assuming it's all true, and that it's 100% accurate as depicted in the media so far.

I was at the game, but missed the Sanchez-Belicheat exchange. Anyone have any links to a video of that?

Man I hear that, loud and clear. I'm 37 years old and have been a Pats fan since I was a kid. (That's my Dad in my avatar... an old leatherhead.)

So I've been through 1-15 seasons, 2-14 seasons, scandals, lousy owners, terrible coaches, etc-etc-etc. When the Patriots first played the Rams in that Super Bowl, they were the underdogs, the team everyone wanted to win. Their "as a team" introduction for that game, especially in the months after 9/11, really resonated with people all across the country.

But, too much success makes you the object of hatred. It's just what happens. I remember being a kid and hating the 49ers, but only because they were so good. Not because I actually had any animosity toward Montana or Rice or anyone.

I hate the Pats for good reason, you guys have been so successful. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate greatness. I think Brady is the best QB in the league and by far the best of his generation. Most Jet fans cannot be honest and they try to take credit away from Brady or the Pats.

Thanks man, very classy post.

That's why I showed up here yesterday to congratulate you guys. I don't consider myself a "good loser," but I do believe in showing respect for your opponents. The Jets played hard and earned the win... they backed up the talk with their play. You've gotta respect that.

I actually thought a lot about that old Lombardi quote... "Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser!" LOL...

    Welcome to the board...filler.

Since when has knowing someone personally become the basis for judging that person's character? By that standard, since I never had lunch with Hitler, I guess I can't size up what kind of person he was?

Belly's track record - cheating on his wife with someone else's wife, cheating to win, stealing a million dollars from an old man who by all accounts was a decent and kind person - says everything about the kind of person Belly is.

I don't think even a Pats fan can argue the Belly has no class. he doesn't. the bigger picture is who gives a shit?

yes, when he's kicking our ass and it is all we have on him (including when Mangini luckily pulled out a couple of victories - nobody can deny we were all shocked by both of those victories), that is our only argument. but this team actually took it to the Pats and it doesn't seem like a fluke, so at some point it should be a non-issue. he's not so far above us that we don't have real aspects to flaunt over him, like kicking his ass.
