That god awful QB hit him in the hands four times. Heyward-Bey dropped every pass that came close to him...
heyward-bey is going to end up being pretty good. its just going to take some time for him to get a hold of the nfl game
...trying to get that post count up? DHB has 1 catch for 18 yards in two games. Also, he has about 5 or 6 drops...
Yeah, because I'm not ready to call a kid a bust after 2 games makes me a fanboy. You are really not worth anybody's time.
I seem to remember being one of the few Mark Sanchez supporters on this board...even before the Jets drafted him. I'm pretty sure you were one of the clowns that was against The Coalition of Sanchez. Heyward-Bey is a bust, but at least he is in uniform unlike Mike Crabtree, who will also be a bust in this league. 2009 was not the year to draft a receiver, plain and simple. 2010 and 2011 will be loaded with talent at the position.
It's funny reading old posts from threads dug up.......the people that know their stuff are usually right.
I liked Sanchez, and a hell of a lot more than Stafford, at that, but I was afraid we were giving up too much to get him when we made the trade. Within a day or so, when I came to my senses, I loved the move.
Rookie WRs for the most part don't do much damage year 1. Nicks, Maclin, and Crabtree(Even though he isn't signed) were each 1st round WRs too and haven't done much at all. Britt had a solid week 1 game but week 2 he hardly did much so who knows about him too. Lone WR who has had a major impact thus far for his team has been Harvin. DHB has looked bad the 1st 2 weeks but he is working with an overhyped stiff at QB too unlike some of these other WRs. Until Russell is ousted, DHB will never be used properly IMO. Its a shame DHB coulden't go elsewhere because I just don't know if he will work in Oakland. Don't care what Raiderjoe has to say, Russell has been and will always be a stiff.
its gonna take a little bit of time for heyward-bey to get used to the strength of nfl qbs, at maryland he had chris turner throwing to him last year and turner doesnt exactly have a cannon for an arm. thats part of the reason hes going to be dropping a bunch of passes. and yea im trying to get my post count up
That's a stupid analogy. A receiver is suppose to catch the ball from the QB......end of story. My friend, please pad your post count on another board......I have no time for nonsense.
I didn't want the Jets to draft him at 6. I wanted them to trade up to get him. I saw Heyward-Bey's first reception live yesterday. To me, it looks like he could become a good player if Oakland gets better play from the quarterback position.
Be careful GermanJetsFan and some others don't see this thread. Bumpin' threads around these parts to make yourself look good means you're an asshole or fuckwad or something. At least that's what I was called for bumping a Matt Ryan or Gladys Gholston thread (it was for one of those players).
It's very hard to tell what Heyward Bey is going to be,but it could be worse. The Raiders could have drafted Michael Crabtree. Heyward Bey definitely has the physical tools but I watched him play a ton in college(living with a former Terp) and in person on several occasions and he looked like just another guy out there. He has all the physical talent in the world, I just think he landed in the worst possible situation to realize it, with a ton of other somewhat talented guys at the position and an exasperated fan base expecting first year miracles(and a salary demanding them). Bottom line, you don't spend top ten picks on projects. -X-
