It was working for Nick Lately before his weed addiction messed up his career again.

I like the way we're talking at the moment, it goes with our new kick ass defense.

Other than Brady's comment about how many points the Pats would score (some guy predicted a close low scoring game (17-14?) and Brady said c'mon make it 24-21, we're gonna score more than that), I don't recall any other "trash" talking.

But if the Giants took that little comment to heart, then maybe there is something to this bulletin board material.

Really, I just think they had a great gameplan and put it to the Pats all day, kept it close, and the football gods repayed their hard work on that final drive.

I was with you up the the point of "but if (and probably when) they lose this week, it will be just the Same Ole Jets". After that I agree that you should follow your own advice.

    please.

In his normal smug manor he laughed at Plaxico's prediction as if it were impossible the Giants could ever come close to holding them to only 17 points. Let's not try and sugar coat this.

I'm kinda agreeing with you at this point. I mean i like the new attitude and all but i'd rather do our talking on the field in the form of a win.
I fully expect us to back up the talk but i can't help but have that pit in my stomach for our past screw ups.

Did he not say at least predict 24-21? I don't think I sugarcoated anything.

You're trying to act as if Brady's response wasn't the equivalent of trash talking. Let's be real here. Of course he went on and continued with his fake smug response to try and say something nice. It didn't matter. His initial reaction was the truth

That's the point - they talked and backed it up. Hasn't happened since. And if they lose Sunday, even if its 20-19, what then? Are they going to talk shit about Tennessee? Then you are not confident - you are just a jackass. And I've seen enough jackasses in green and white over the last 40 years. Like I said when Ryan took over and started mouthing off - I've heard it all before - from Holtz to Walton to Carroll to Kotite to Edwards - with the same results. Win some games. That's how you get respect in the league.

Actually he said something along the lines of, "It would've made more sense for him to say the score would be 45-43." That's where the smugness comes in. He believed the offense he was going to lead on the field would score 40+ points on the Giants D.

He also said he knew about trash-talking earlier in his career and he learned from it. Clearly not.

He also talks about confidence, and how that's good. No team ever goes into a game thinking they're gonna lose.

I know you like to disagree with me , but nowhere in my post did I say he wasn't talking trash. I said other than his comment, I don't remember the Pats talking trash that week.

Sorry that I got his score prediction wrong. I never thought much about it really.

    Your comment also included this:
I don't recall any other "trash" talking.

By putting the trash in quotes it seems pretty clear that you're suggesting it wasn't trash talking. Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but I highly doubt it.

See, I think even if they lose this week they will still be confident against the Titans. It is all about the new culture that Ryan is trying to instill here in New York. Don't back down to teams that are supposed to beat you and hit them hard. Nobody on the Jets team has insulted the Patriots.

Rex Ryan simply said that he didn't come to New York to kiss Belicheks rings. Would you rather have him said that he wanted to set up an altar and praise belichek cause he's the best coach in the world.

Jenkins said that he is preparing for the game like its hte Super Bowl. What is wrong with this? Would you rather our players not prepare for every game like its the biggest game of their lives?

Rhodes took it a little farther by saying that he wants to embarrass the Patriots. Every NFL team wants to embarrass the team they play every week. I don't get whats wrong with this either. Please explain to me why they shouldn't be expressing the fact that they are going to play hard and try to win.

Would you have said the same thing about The Guarantee?

It's a game. Let them have fun with it.

Why are you so afraid of being a "laughingstock"? If you have image issues, jump ship because the Jets won't do you any favors. Remember, you're only a laughingstock if you care about the people laughing.

Wahoo is an old Jet fan who is scared of change. He'd rather sit and accept mediocrity, knowing his team is what he knows they are and he never wants it to change because god forbid this team give him hope for once.

Its sooooo scary for a team to look good and talk big and be mean and act like a legitimate football team. Its gunna make the boogeyman come and ruin everything once more.

As a younger Jet fan, i'm beginning to have a lot of disrespect for the older Jet fans who duck and cover at every sight of wanting to be better than Just OK

I hope to God the Jets win because I cannot deal with smug arrogant Pats fans running their mouths especially the bandwagon fan which CT is full of! I know 10 Patriot fans and only one true honest die hard fan.

its really quite annoying to hear all the talk and chatter. if you are truely great you have no need to talk everyone already knows you are great.

tends that those who talk too goddamn much arent all that great. i really wish this team would stfu and act a little more professional and go do the talking on the field.
