Houston has Andre Johnson which makes their offense better then then Chargers right there. Add Walter and Slaton to the list. Charagers have a good offense but IMO falls short of the Texans offense.
Vincent Jackson 6'5 230, Chris Chambers and Malcom Floyd 6'5 225 createsd more matchup problems thamn Texans. AQgain weghat Qb you rather have P Rivers or Matt schaub. That is where makes Chargers offense far more superior than Texans.
I'll give the Raiders credit, they looked pretty impressive last night. Better than I thought they'd be. Just like the Jets good play, I don't know if that was due to the other team's poor play or actual improvement, but I thoroughly expected them to get blown out of the water last night. If Russell was even close to accurate, they would have won that game handily last night. I was not impressed at all with the Chargers defense. I figured they would go out with the intention of stifling the run, but either they couldn't do that or they weren't defending the run because McFadden was running through HUGE holes in the d-line. Just like the Jets, we'll see if they can keep it up for more than one game.
That was a classic Raiders game last night. How many times have we heard Joe say "they blew the game but we saw enough to know they will win a lot of games". Yet every week they find another way to lose. What kind of retarded CS do you have to have to change the defensive style that was working for the last two drives of the game with the outcome in balance. Combine horrible coaching and horrible QB play and there is the reason the Raiders won't win more then 6 games again.
Did Chambers even play? He is about 5 minutes from being dropped..I know he didn't have a single catch.
Parcells would have cut McKelvin, and yes I know he was a first round pick but he just lost a game almost singlehandedly. In truth no kick returner on a Parcells team would ever have made that mistake. Jauron is as much at fault as McKelvin and really he should be fired for the mistake.
I think the Raiders actually look like they have a lot of decent talent. Not the greatest mix of talent, mind you. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose a lot of close heartbreakers. they have a lot better talent on the field than on the staff.
Since you are such an advocate of "submitting facts and stats" in a debate, here are the facts: Last year, the Houston Texans were ranked 3rd in the NFL in total offense averaging 382.1 YPG, while the San Diego Chargers were ranked 11th averaging 349.0 YPG. The Texans are a much better offensive team than the Chargers. The statistics don't lie, Jeaux, and you bring nothing to this debate other than your own retarded opinion on whose players are better. Case closed. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=true&conference=null&role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=GAME_STATS&defensiveStatisticCategory=null&season=2008&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go
^ Not to mention the Chargers' stats are inflated from playing the pitiful defenses in Oakland, Kansas City, and Denver twice each.
So, Jeauxseph, lemme get this straight: despite the Texans putting up better Offensive numbers than the Chargers last year, the Chargers Offense is better because.....they have 'better' individual players? ..... because football is an individualistic sport, right?
you're absolutely correct, Jeaux.....one game doesn't make a season. That's why i just add last night's game to the previous 6 Raider season's pile of shit.
The Raiders last night looked like a competive football team. They were hanging tooth and nail with the Chargers who like RaiderJoe has said have been in the top 3 terms of talent in the NFL that last few years. But Buffalo Jauron has no idea whats going on and Mike Brown Bengals owner has an Moron as a Head Coach in Marvin Lewis(great as a DC). Palmer hasn't been the same since he got his knee blown out. Everything about Buffalo, and Bengals needs to be completely gutter. They do need a guy like Cowher, Parcells or Dungy who can come and make them competive again and out of this loser funk
I think the Bills planned well and played well (seeing as they had only 10 days to really prepare). A mistake made by not taking a knee on that runback is how they lost that game. Re Cowher, I think he's waiting on the Panthers job to come open.
