Sorry if this was posted elsewhere...it may be buried in another thread... I was listening to the postgame press conference on the official Jets site and Sanchez said that after the INT, the coaches told him they weren't going to dial back the play book and play "not to lose...we're playing to win". I noticed this in the game. In both the Herm and Mangini years, there is no doubt that we would have been playing to run the clock out in the 4th quarter with very safe play calls. I thought both on offense and defense, we were playing balls out. It is one of the things that always impressed me about Belichick's Pats.....when the other team is down, go for the jugular. I'm hoping we see this attitude all season long. I'd rather lose a few playing aggressively, than win games with no gusto. Because eventually that afraid-to-lose mentality catches up with you. Keep the pedal to the metal Rex and Schotty!
This is eerily similar to my thread i made like 4 hours ago. Lol... Same thread title and alot of the same points. But no replies on mine, so you have some more of an advantage
Sorry Poeman.....I did a quick scan and didn't see it. Lots of people posting today...for a good reason for a change.
DBJ... wazzzzup? Yeah, things look different in the Jet nation. It sure was fun to watch today.... but it was fun in Mangini's first year too. Then he went the wau of Herm.... I think, I hope Ryan is different.
hey no worries man, and i agree with you 100%. This aggresive mindset is totally new for this franchise. Shades on 1998
Hey TBJ - All good here. Alex wants to go to his first Jet game this year....he is totally into football this year. We'll probably try to go the Bufallo or Jax game. It is hard to get too excited with the history of this franchise....but having a defense and a QB is a start.
It freaked me out. I was used to playing not to lose. I had a very conservative mindset. I kept freaking out when we would throw it towards the end, but it was beautiful. I need to get used to this new look/new philosophy franchise.
