3-0 against the DAVID CARR Texans. We did NOT have the elite offense
we do now, and our Defensive Coordinator had NO IDEA on how to properly
implement a blitz. 12-4 in the last two seasons at home, and have been
CRUSHING non-elite teams at home. Our division has at least 2 Superbowl
candidates EVERY season, so we have to be better-than-average just
    to COMPETE.

I know you don't catch much of our squad, and that's OK. That's why CBS
named them the A-Game, and the NFL will be put on notice tomorrow. By the
way, Andre Johnson REQUIRES a constant double team, and occasionally, a
triple-team. This is what makes Kevin Walter, Andre Davis, and Owen Daniels
so effective. You can NOT single-team AJ, and the constant double and
triple teaming of him leaves the rest of our receivers in single coverage.

If you key on the pass, then that's where Steve Slaton will light you up. Only
ONE running back ran for more than a 100 yards on the Tennessee Titans last
year. He did it twice. That's right, Steve Slaton.

I'll tell ya what. I'm glad you guys in New York get to witness what we've
been quietly putting together in Houston the last 3 Years.

The Houston fans did not "lose" the Oilers, we FIRED Bud Adams. We got
tired of him constantly holding our city hostage, and told him to hit the road.
The owner of our Texans is building the team up the right way. He's not
building our team through free agency to have a good season here-and-there.
We're building through the draft, slowly, surely, for championships the way
    the great teams do it.

Of our last 21 draft picks, 17 are still contributing to the team. Not many
teams have drafted better than us since Gary Kubiak came to town. Those
picks from our '06 haul are now coming into their primes: Mario Williams, Demeco Ryans, Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels, David Anderson, Zac Diles(7th
Round Pick now starting at WILL linebacker,) etc...

This is season one of the new era of the Houston Texans. Exhibit A to be
    submitted tomorrow at High-Noon.

You were 17th in points scored- how is that elite?

Your div has at leats 2 SB contenders every year yet your div has just one year where it sent a team to the SB this decade and your best team last year we humiliated at their place.

The game is getting Nantz and Simms b/c of the JETS and Mark Sanchez not b/c of the Texans.

We have a great run D, I agree on Andre Johnson. he is an absolute beast and Slaton is a good running back but our run D shut down better ground games last year.

This is the 8th year of rebuilding for you and you have yet to see a playoff race.

    The last 4 expansion teams:

Car and Jax made the postseason in their 2nd year
Cleveland made the postseason in their 4th year

    Houston: 7 years and counting

Even TB did it quicker and the deck was loaded against them. TB made it in their 4th year and Sea took 8 years. Houston can tie the this year:rofl:

Keep building it the right way!

You really are over hyping your team. I love how all the houston fans put their past failures on david carr. he didn't ruin that franchise, that franchise ruined him. He was a good qb coming our of college and your team failed to get an offensive line to protect him. you get sacked as many times as him and you're not going to have a good nfl career.

Now...you beat the titans, congrats. I do not see why you feel the need to talk up the 13-12 win that was only won i believe because fisher chose to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking a 48 yard fg with one of the best kickers in the game. Yes slaton rushed for 116 yrds then 100 yrds. good yob. Jones rushed for 96 yrds and washington had 82 yrds against that same titans team. we man handled them that game, didn't pull out some squeeker.

Back to our game...yes u may win, we will be without 2 of our best pass rushers. Andre Johnson is one of the best wrs in the game but for you to be ignorant enough to try and deny that revis is one of the best corners in the league is laughable. and do not try to throw the whole i do not know your team thing at me....I live in Corpus Christi and have seen plenty of texans football, you guys are not that good so stop talking like you're the steelers.

Hey, as a Houston fan, you have every right to be excited this year. It looks like you'll finally make the playoffs.

Unless Kris Jenkins breaks Matt Schaub in half, which is very possible.

And Cortland Finnegan is no Darrelle Revis. You will find that out Sunday. Andre Johnson is a stud, no doubt about it, but so is Revis.

I'm very glad Walter is banged up. He scares me a lot as a #2. Andre Davis is a bit of a burner, but I'm not too worried about him.

I've come to the conclusion that after the way our season ended last season, no one is going to like this team. What they don't realize is that we are a different team, poised with great potential.

I rather the "experts" pick against us every week. That way, when and if we do win, it's a "good surprise". When and if we lose, it's "expected".

But when it really comes down to it, I don't give a rats ass what the "experts" say. I just want our boys to go out and play their best, week in and week out.

    !

You hate the way I "right?" ...... I hate the way you "wrong" ya grump (but that's besides the point, fellow 'Eng. Lit. 101 professor' and Jet fan=wink):

My point was that we have "on-the-road" challanges:
(we're not yet the "Rex Ravens"...nor his daddy's '86 Bears' D coming to the table come tomorrow).

Respectfully, though I would love to see Schaub & Co. blow-up offensively in the face of our Pace/Ellis absent "D", I'm more concerned about our ability to protect our "first-NFL-start-QB" Matt Sanchez, specifically the "left side" of the OL. To recap in a nutshell my previous post that you didn't find "write":

OL right side = RB push.
OL left side = protect Sanchez.
Dude: that's "Offense-101" (i.e. protect the QB vis-a-vis KILL the QB).
    Period.

Should the offensive line (the key, imho) hold their own tomorrow let alone winning the day altogether IN HOUSTON, rest assured I will not take advantage to "write" "I TOLD YOU SO" in (lame) Monday-Morning-Quarterbacking-fashion.

    Enjoy the game, crabby.

    Best,
    Joe

it'll be close, big matchups, dbrick vs super mario, andre vs revis. if we can take both those matchups, we win.

    Ok Texansjeuax...

    Two simple Items.

A soft defensive team against a great running team.

A decent offensive team with injuries (including a gimpy QB) against a high pressure defense.

You'll be behind early...and forced to throw....and Schaub will be exposed to blitzers....

Since when did any Houston fan ever become an expert at anything? I thought this was the thread for expert picks.

That's not true but what you would expect any third rate announcer to say about a QB he has never seen play. It usually goes with rookies.

he said when he drops back he drops back to the right instead of straight back and into pressure and is too hesitant once pressured.

Jaws, on the same show, said Brady's footwork was off this pre-season... so who knows?
