Why would we have listed someone when there's no doubt he was going to play ? I Dont understand why Favre opened him mouth about this?

I can't believe this is being treated like such a big deal.

Favre's a freaking diva, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't out to get the Jets fined over this nonsense. He gave an interview, the injury topic came up (as it always does), and he answered the question. Accurately, as it turns out.

I couldn't care less about something that makes gambling a riskier endeavor than it already is. The idea that a team should be fined for possibly not providing thorough information to gamblers is pretty stupid.

This was on mangini, Tannenbaum is taking the blame so this non-issue can be swept under the carpet as soon as possible.

I agree, Tanny is taking the blame but I'm sure it was Magnini's fault... the guy won't even say who the starting QB is... no wonder he wouldn't want the other team to know his QB is injured. Tanny had to give Mangini permission to do this so I can see why he is taking the blame... but I'm sure it was Mangini who wanted to hide this fact...

It's all about gambling. The knowledge of Favre playing injured would have surely dropped the Jets a few points if not removing them from being favorites in many games, thus completely changing the odds. Other than that, there is no logical reason why anyone should care. If the fact was that Favre wanted to sit and Mangini downright refused, that's different. Then again, unless Mangini was threatening Favre in some way then he shouldn't truly have any authority to prevent an injured player from sitting.
