Might be possible that both teams made the move based on salaray cap issues.

The Giants have Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith up and coming. The Chiefs might want to go with an allout youth movement.

Of course it's possible Toomer just sucks completely now. Either scenario is possible.

He was available for a while and the Jets didn't go for him, so I doubt they do so now. Doesn't seem like an upgrade to me.

Hey if we want fossils, I heard Jerry Rice and Chris Carter are available too.

Man the way some of you guys reference the wind at Giant's Stadium I feel like we're talking about a cat 5 hurricane....

I think Toomer wouldn't do much more other than take snaps away from our progressing, young WR core. A solid #1 (which is not available) is all I think the Jets would be interested in. Other than that, lets go with what we got.

It wasn't a cap move w/ the Giants and he didn't sign for big $ in KC so it wasn't a cap move there either.

Clowney has speed, but his hands, size and durability are questionable.

Can you identify one instance where he's dropped a pass in a game situation?

I don't disagree about his durability though. I don't see Clowney as a reliable #2, just as a situational deep threat.

Toomer is done. He only does well with a great receiver at the other end rolling coverage away at this point in his career. I think the Jets can wait another year if nothing else presents itself.

What I think the Jets need to do is try to get Lynn swan out of retirement. I mean, if were goign to pick up an old receiver, at least get one that had style and grace when he played.

i think toomer might have something left. that and he's the best i ever saw putting two feet inside the lines. it maight be a good thing to have a class act like toomer on the team.

I agree with most of you on not getting Toomer. I say stick with what we have and lets see how it rolls. Cotchery, Stuckey, Keller, Clowney and Brad Smith should hold us over to the end of the season. Especially with catching teams by surprise being that alot of people hate our WR corp. Just look at what Rivers does with the WRs he has Chambers, Jackson, Floyd, Gates and Davis works out fine for them.

This isn't the most politically correct thing to write, I guess, but I think the winds impact on the Meadowlands has been minimal at best. The wind has only been a factor at the Meadowlands a handful of times, tops, the last 5 or 6 years. The weather's actually been quite nice in that time period, IMHO.
