I disagree on both of your points. First, I doubt Tannenbaum makes any trade without first already having a contract ready that the incoming player is willing to sign. Second, Clemens would be better than any QB the Broncos have. He's absolutely a solid #2 in the NFL.

We get your point. There are some crazies at WR in the NFL (Terrell Owens, Steve Smith, Chad Ochocinco, etc.) However, Larry Fitzgerald is not the only star wideout who is not nuts. Others include- Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Greg Jennings, Marques Colston, Santana Moss, Hines Ward, Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, and Derrick Mason.
I understand that about Crabtree, I'm just not sure how you can sign a guy who was drafted 10th overall and apparently believes he should be paid more than the guy drafted 7th overall who plays the same position. He's missing the entire preseason trying to get money he clearly, objectively, does not deserve. I can't fathom why Tannenbaum or any GM would welcome such idiocy. As for your belief about Clemens, I disagree. Two teams have actually chosen to make Orton their starter over the last several years, as opposed to Clemens, who the Jets -- the team that knows the guy's ability level better than any other team -- have spent multiple high draft picks in the last 12 months in a concerted effort to replace. Nothing against the guy, but Clemens hasn't proven to be a solid anything in the NFL. A year ago Daunte Culpepper and Byron Leftwich both had a difficult time landing NFL jobs, and both had shown a lot more in the NFL than Clemens. Teams don't go out of their way to sign guys like Clemens, and they sure as hell don't trade for them.
Two points... one, that's a very loose list. The only "elite" wide receivers today from that list are AJ, CJ, Jennings, and Wayne. The second point is that those receivers aren't available. Marshall is.
Again, I don't think Tannenbaum would subscribe to anything that doesn't seem like a good deal. Two teams haven't "chose to make" Orton their starter, the Bears tried him out, determined they could do better, and took advantage of a star being available from a team he's disgruntled with. Orton was sent to the Broncos so that they could have SOMEBODY to play quarterback. The difference between Culpepper / Leftwich and Clemens is that with Culpepper / Leftwich you're getting two very mediocre quarterbacks who would expect to start. To that point, I don't think it'd be a bad move for the Broncos to bring in either one of those guys if in football shape (I know Leftwich is off the market) to compete with Orton considering how bad Orton looks. Clemens doesn't come in with expectations of being starter, he just gives the Broncos an option to go with if Orton ends up being awful. Either way, if we made a deal with the Broncos and Clemens was included, he wouldn't be the selling point of the deal, he'd be the deal closer.
