I think its pretty clear that the UFA from Rutgers has outplayed Casper Gholston to date. If da ghost continues to show us absolutely nothing, I would support Westerman starting in place of casper. thoughts?
no doubt about i actually think even though gholston is named the starter during c.pace suspension.... westerman will see at 40 to 50 percent of the snaps
Is Casper Gholston Vernon's brother? I had no idea he had a brother or that he was on the Jets. Pretty cool if it is.
ill wait until the regular season to see what i think about gholston, but whatever makes the defense better is good with me.
One can only hope Vernon doesn't impart any of his "wisdom" on his young cousin William who already has the freakish athletic ability tag and passes the eyeball test. Sounds familiar to us Jets fans. 6'7 250 as a HS senior DE. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recr...ncf/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=66588 Didn't mean to get off topic and yes I agree, Westerman will see a lot of time in the first 4 games of the year. Better a rookie UDFA than a lottery pick in the '08 draft.
oh ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.. Seriously though, what exactly have Westerman and/or Murrell done to prove they are better then anyone? One of those three is going to have to step up during Pace's suspension. Honestly I don't have confidence that any of the three are up to the task. Pace really fucked his teammates and fans with his suspension.
Westermann had a few tackles. One behind the line if I remember correctly. Really, other than that, I cannot say who is better.
Problem is... Gholston has to play, if you bench him for a undrafted unrookie that looks bad on Ghoston. Literally all confidence goes out the window and he might be going back home to cry.
