I like Leon, but spend every penny we have building depth on d. Our defense looks strong, make it even stronger.

Kerry Rhodes needs to become a bigger presence on the field. IMO he is a glaring weakness.

Pay the man what he is asking for, tonight alone showed why he is worth it.

You know what would make me happy? If Leon Washington and Vernon Gholston switched contracts. We spend the same amount of money, Leon gets more than he wants, Vernon gets more than he deserves, everybody's happy.

Yes, he's our most dynamic player...but until we utilize him properly, the contract on the table is MORE than fair. If we don't pay him now, he steps in this season, sees an increase in his role, and maintains that same level of explosiveness, he'll likely command more money. Of course, if all of those things happen, we're not letting him go. He'll get the highest RFA tender next offseason (if 2010 is uncapped), or he'll get franchised (if 2010 is capped). I hope he takes the offer on the table, but "whatever he wants" is a bit ridiculous.

That's interesting, considering our starting OL hasn't really played so far.

Many of us (including myself) wanted to use this Balt game as a measuring stick for the Offense, specifically Sanchez.

Well, without Leon, we would've done zilch. He is the ONLY playmaker on this team.

Yeah more and more it shows just how important Leon is to the Jets. This guy is more than a career change of pace back, he's a dynamic offensive starter, or should be.

Can we PLEASE get LEON signed now.
Although pre-season , its apparent that Leon is the #1 threat on our team, anywhere at anytime. Lock this guy up before he starts to look elsewhere.

Last night, if Jones was getting those carries instead of Leon, we probably get 2 first downs in the first half and throw 3 more INTs. Leon Washington was creating plays out of nothing. Against the Ravens. To think, if Mangini had bothered to give him more carries last season, we would probably have made the playoffs and won the division title.

Even Jones averaged over 4 YPC. The Ravens couldn't stop anybody running the ball. We ran at will and if it wasn't a pre-season game we would have probably never stopped running either.

Leon proved last night he is worth more to this team than any other offensive player.

I have mentioned this on a number of occasions, Leon is as important to the Jets, as MJD is to the Jags. In the capacity in which the Jets use Leon, he's extremely valuable to the team.

Also, I believe Leon could be even better than Tiki Barber. After Charles Way, it took Tiki until his fourth season to get 1000 yards. This is Leon's 4th season, I think it could be time.

I think Leon should be getting the largest % of carries on the team, with Jones and Greene wearing down Ds, Leon is the playmaker on this team , period

I think Leon is already better than Tiki. He just hasn't gotten the carries to show it.

Nothing Leon does surprises me. I thought he could be a full-time starter from the get-go. I believed in him the day he was drafted. He's a great player.

I changed my mind after yesterday

Pay the man. Leon looks better than ever and is the best playmaker on this squad. Keep him in Green and White for the next few years.

I wanted to play hardball earlier but I want to make sure Leon will be with the Jets for a long, long time.
