The Yankees shouldn't have dumped him in the first place, but what's done is done. We still have a 7 game lead, and we still haven't lost 10 games since the All-Star break. Last night sucked, especially with both ARod and Posada having huge chances and both utterly failing, but shit happens. Today's a new day. I'd expect us to get back on track today with a ridiculous pitching mismatch. Tomorrow we might have to work for to salvage the series. I'm more concerned later in the week when we hit Fenway. Hopefully Pettitte's control will return, and Burnett won't have miscues with Jorge again.
Yes, they should have. Tomko was garbage for them, and outside of last night, has been garbage for the A's. That he managed to get his act together for one night doesn't change that.
