beleive it or not.the jets drafted the best q.b. in the draft.clemens played for a mediocre team.he has all the essentials to be great.ask ron jaworski who was a great q.b. in his own right.the guy has a cannon of an arm and has been known to be very accurate.the jets can take this pick to the bank.

How dare you post something like this? Don't you know Me Kiper didn't even have this guy in his top 5 at the position? He couldn't possibly be any good :)))

I agree Jaws is very knowledgeable. I hope he's right.

I will take jaw's assessment over Kipers anyday. Jaws and Hodge were saying all along that Leinart and Young were second and third rnd talents

Please, pass me whatever you and Jaws are smoking.

I've certainly never seen this strong arm that you speak of and I think that calling Clemens better than Leinart, Cutler and Young is an incredibly stupid statement.

Its not that stupid, considering that this guy would have been in the top 5 if he hadn't broken his ankle last year. This kid can make all the throws, and make all the reads. We'll soon see.

Come on. There's no way that Clemens would've passed Young or Leinart, let alone Bush, Williams and Ferguson to make the top 5.

If you've ever watched Clemens you'd see that he has no arm and makes poor decisions frequently. Not to mention his crippling immobility.

I'm tangini backers until they lose my confidence, they have done nothing since taking over that requires concern, it will take awhile to judge this draft.....

    Ya got a STEAL!!!

I've watched Clemens for four yrs, ( I live in Oregon)...He's very mobile for a white guy, and is EXCEEDINGLY intelligent..He had three Off Coor. at Oregon.. In a new offense this year, he completed something like 64% of his passes with a 16 to 4 TD/INT ratio......See my post on the, " a shorter Pennington, why?" thread.....

Everyone who has watched him says he has a very good arm with a lot of zip, and they just showed tons of video of him on ESPN, and it reiterated that point.

I will trust the Front Office on Clemens until proven otherwise... I'm just glad we got someone at the QB position this year, he'll be able to sit and learn and come out firing next year if need be...

The question is have you ever watched him to make an opinion on him?

If you have some sort of beef with me take it to the trashtalkng forum. That's the second time that you've attacked me for being supposedly "anti-Tangini" for not liking Clemens, even though I've been far more supportive of most of their moves than most on this site.

Believe it or not, I am a Jets fan and not an Edwards fan and I am in favor of the Jets making the best move. Being pro-Edwards does not mean that I can't accept moves that Tannebaum and Mangini make--I just happen to think that Chad Jackson would do us a lot more good than Kellen Clemens.

I'll just quote one scouting report about Clemens arm. Says www.nfldraftcountdown.com:

That doesn't exactly suggest that Clemens has a "good arm with a lot of zip." If you want I can take the time to find more scouting reports as well.

Based on the games that I've seen Clemens play, the idea that he will end up being the best QB of this draft is ridiculous. But I guess his obvious weaknesses make me anti-Tangini

Go ahead. I'll go by my own eyes, Ron Jaworski, Mike Mayock, and Gil Brandt before I even take a glance at some independant draft site's scouting report of him.

Last season I saw him play vs. USC and Arizona State and he did not look impressive at all.

And I'm sure if you watched him against Fresno State and Washington, you would love the guy. You can't base it off of just two games, a greater sample size is needed.

You think maybe you're overexaggerating abit? 10Pen10 only offered up a contrary argument, and you're taking it as if he's calling you out. Chill out, buddy.

I've read and heard so many varying reports on Clemens that I really don't know what to believe. I guess we'll just have to see for ourselves, but I like the pick. To me, Jaws is the leading voice on the matter, and he did nothing but rave about Clemens.

Yeah, because Scott Wright obviously has a personal vendetta against Clemens. As does NFL Draft Almanac. And Football's Future.

You can believe whatever you want but if Clemens is ever a starter in the NFL I'll eat my hat.

This is not the first time that 10Pen10 has called me out for supposedly being "anti-Tangini" just for disagreeing with them/not being rabidly anti-Herm. So if he has something to say to me he can put it in the appropriate place, otherwise he can keep his trap shut.

This is coming from a guy who just said that he believes that Clemens has a strong arm because he saw it in a highlight film that they showed on ESPN...
