Schlereth correctly noted that you build a team from the trenches out not the other way around and loved the Ferguson and Mangold picks.

Jaws said that Clemens was a steal and was as good as the big three if not for an injured ankle last year. Strong arm, smart.

Unlike the others on this board, I'm loving this draft.

We were just saying in the chat how ESPN has never praised the Jets like they have today. And Tangini deserves it, great job so far.

They said the Jets know how to build a team, hmm I think I'll take the opinions of people that know what they are talking bout. I'm really intrigued of Kellens.

Yea, I'm loving it as well. All these people who think you can just plug in a playmaker here and there and expect to win championships know nothing, they just want to be entertained. Our front office is BUILDING A FOOTBALL TEAM the way it is supposed to be built!

Solidify the offensive line for years to come and get your probable heir at quarterback within the first two rounds is fine by me.

I'm with you guys, I love this draft. Everything Stink said was right. You have to build a team. Drafting a bunch of play makers aren't going to do anything unless you have a foundation. That foundation is the O-Line. The Jets went out and got the best center and best tackle in the draft. The Jets may not contend this year, but this is a move that will pay off for them years down the road.

I was upset with the first round but I really like Clemens, Jaws and Hodge were raving about him and Jaws even compared him to Brady. :eek:hmy:

I think this new regime with there focus, tight lips, and there draft picks so far are already clearly better than the one they replaced..:breakdance:

To date, this has been an absolutely fantastic draft. Only quibble would be not going after White at 35, but it appears that's because they knew somebody was gonna pick up Clemens before Rd. 3.

I really like this draft so far. Yes they don't help jersey sales, but I think we saw what happened when this O-Line fell apart last year. I guess people forgot about having 3 QB's get injured a season ago

This regime feels better than anything we've had since the first two Parcell's seasons before the Vinny injury demoralized the Tuna and made him quit.

This is absolutely fantastic. We got the best 2 guys in their position period, a huge need for us, and a QB that might be the surprise of the draft. An absolute A+ by the front office. The BS about getting Leinart first because he is a "play maker" is just that, he will be another Chad Pennigton. Funny how all the Chad bashers wanted Matt, with the same arm strengh, and called him a "play maker". Without protection he is dog meat. Our line 2 years from now will be tops. Now we can focus on a RB, WR, and DE.

Hindsight being 20/20 I would've taken a playmaker at 4. Before you roll your eyes - realize I am talking about Ohio State Linebacker A.J. Hawk. Then we could have stayed Mangold @ 29 and gotten a damn good tackle @ 35 to boot. Oh well. If the guys we got perform up to expectations this will go down as one of the better Jets drafts in history.

Been a great draft so far, JWWS. I absolutely LOVE THIS FIRST DAY!! The OL has been addressed the way it should have been, and then they grab a QB with excellent potential.

Mna, if they can add Brian Calhoun to this, it'll be amazing.

I agree. These may not have been players that enamoured me from the first, but they are excellent picks and confirm the direction I thought they'd be moving in.
