    Fucking insane.

He makes every defender look like the 2008-2009 Vernon Gholston vs. Jay Cutler.

If he wasn't the alltime ankle breaker in NFL history, he's right up there. Of course, there was a price for this - almost 11% of his runs ended in negative yardage (336 carries for -952 yards).

I still think Barry Sanders is the greatest RB of all time, and football player of all time. To do what he did is very impressive, but to do what he did behind a shit offensive line on a shit team like Detroit with absolutely no supporting cast is even more remarkable. He is the best hands down.

Ever heard of Walter Payton or Emmitt Smith?

Well that's the great debate. I think Sanders is the best. Sanders would have put up more yards than the both of them had he not retired in his prime. Also, the argument usually comes down to Sanders/Payton/Jim Brown.... Emmitt racked up the yards but I don't think he was on the same plane as the aforementioned trio.

Best thing to happen to the Detroit Lions since Alex Wojciechowicz. Maybe Eric Hipple.

Payton, you can make an argument for. Emmitt... not even close. If Barry Sanders had the Cowboys' O-line, had Novacek and Moose Johnston... and had a coach that would give him the ball in the red zone... I think Barry would have racked up a few 3000 yard seasons. He was just that good.

Its a shame he was stuck in Detroit his whole career. In my football watching life the only RB I would take over him was Payton, who was a more complete RB. To this day I still don't understand why the Lions didn't use him more in redzone/goaline situations.

Honestly though, Bo Jackson was another player I loved to watch run. Both Bo and Barry were rare talents.

Bo was ridiculous too. I don't think he was as good as Barry though.

It's too bad they both had such short careers.

No doubt Sanders was one of the greatest ever but was he better than Jim Brown? Not sure he was. Evetbody knew Cleveland was going to run 95% of the time and he was still unstoppable.
