How not?? Its a division rivalry We have to beat the Patriots 2 times and maybe a third in the playoffs to finally get some rest..
what a loser attitude. the pats are so much bigger and better than us and the nfl wants us to have a bad year every year. if the team would man up and beat them we could start to welcome the pats as our home opener.
The losing really is disappointing every year, going farther back that the 4 openers but I am waiting for that 1 game when the Jets are able to wipe that smug look off of the face of the HC of the Pats. A win this year would sure do alot to boost the pride and enthusiasm of the fans for the rest of the year.
I've got to say I'd rather have this game a bit later in the season. For me it is the biggest game of the season; I seem to hate the Pats more every year. But lets look on the bright side, Belicheat will have less game film to work with and our strength is our new D. I also think we have to have a totally different mental approach-(last year's opener was just damn lame play-calling) and Ryan is going to convince the Jets they will beat the shit of the Pats. Lets get it done.
last home win to the pats was the home opener monday nite 2000 when vinny test hit chrebet with 2 late td's. we are 1-9 in the last 10 home games against the patriots. burn this stadium down
I've been to the last three home openers vs. New England. I'm going again this year, hopefully the Jets pull this one out.
I agree. I want to meet NE at home later in the season for once. I'd rather Rex and Sanchez face them after a few more games. Miami at home would be better to begin the year. Plus, I am still PISSED and Mangini for not attacking Cassel in his first career start LAST year. That was inexcusable. You damn well know Rex would not have planned that game the same way. Why didn't we throw blitzes at him? Why? Mangini beat NE in the mud up there in Foxboro that one time by blitzing the crap out of Brady - it worked! Then we never used that plan again. Mangenius turned into Mangina at that point.
That's an advantage, not a disadvantage. They haven't had time to hone their offense and haven't had much time to scout us.
I agree with Don, with a new coach and defense the Patriots aren't going to have season games to scout us on. Obviously they are going to watch lots of Ravens tape but you have to imagine Rex Ryan has changed the playbook somewhat. And they have no clue what Sanchez can do at the next level(assuming he starts.)
next year...though it'll be an implosion. Can't wait to see that stupid Giants Stadium sign crumble into the rubble.
this is good..if sanchez can prove himself this game, and get comfortable, the rest of the season will be a breeze for him
That game was the biggest bore for about 57 mins then the last few minutes we scored 2 TDs but it's amazing we haven't beaten them there since.
So, does this mean the Jets are NE's 4th straight road opener? Imagine how they would feel if we had been any good.
