Nonsense. Baker was a malcontent and would have dragged everyone down. Plus, HE'S NOT THAT GOOD! He won't score more than 3TDs this year, that's if he makes the Pats roster.
Yes, but it doesn't help when our D is going up against a pathetic offense, with the exception of the o-line. It will be a wakeup call playing against brady/moss/welker/galloway and even owens/evans/lynch.
Chris Baker is at best an average TE who wanted to be treated like he's Antonio Gates. Keller is going to be excellent.
Thankfully it looks more and more likely that Clemens will be warming the bench this year He clearly learned how to pass from Favre, our INT machine from last year.
Everyone please keep in mind these scrimagges are not favorable for the offense. I was at last years and it was also dominated by the defense so let's not be too alarmed that not many points were put up.
When it's Sanchez, it's 'good velocity and accuracy on a deep out route'. When it was Chad, it was 'Pick Six'. Just sayin.
I just read a blog with the idea that he could be a non expensive 1 year deal. Adding him would make a defense play the whole width of the field. Stuckey Leon and Keller could go all sorts of ways from there. http://blogs.rotoworld.com/Fantasy_Football/2009/07/matt_jones_is_still_out_there.php
yeah, its been documented he has a stronger arm than Chad. hitting those routes are the difference between a strong 2 minute drill and a game sealing turnover.
I don't agree that any of the cuts this season were as costly as the Pete Kendall one a few years ago, but I would say the departure of Coles will hurt us a lot more than letting Baker go. I think the fact that he went to the Patriots is clouding people's judgment on how good he was.
it will be interesting to see if the offense can translate well against a lesser defense. maybe tannysaurus rex are willing to take a mulligan on the talent level of the offense this year, and go hard on it next.
My goodness some people here are like bitter scorned lovers- its like Chad Pennington shit on the 50 yard line. Stop ripping the guy already, it looks really immature. You have a whole Jets squad to nitpick over and people still talk about Pennington. Of course, a lot of these geniuses thought that Kellen Clemens would be the savior of this organization- the savior will be warming the bench again and will be cut next season.
Interested to see when they go with Pouha at MLB. Looks like a scheme to rest Jenkins? While maintaining power in the middle? Not sure but an interesting look that would make running up the middle difficult.
He's also playing with and throwing to 2nd stringers! Why is it when someone states this, that they never acknowledge that the offense is all 2nd stringers as well?
Possibly the worst bump ever, but came across this looking for another old post of mine. Baker's season stats: REC:14 YDS:142 AVG:10.1 TDS:2
