The Titans already tried. Boldin has 2 years left on the contract and the draft is over so we have no draft picks to give away (and next year draft picks are untouchable IMHO)... I don't think the cards are willing to do business... they'll use him this year with Warner and Fitz, relying heavily on their pass game, and then next year, by handing the team to Leinart, they will trade him away and become a more balnced offense.

PS oh and we don't have THAT much money to use on a WR as well... Considering we are a defense-run oriented team I would give my best WR no more then 5-6 mill a year. That is of course unless a guy like Fitzgerald or Johnson joins the team but I don't see that happening.

At this point, no one. I ahve voted for Plax in the past but have cooled on him. I want no part of Harrison or a trade for Edwards. Boldin is a very good receiver, but I'm not about to part with the picks it would take to get him.

All signs point to a run first, run second, and run some more type of attack. Looks like we get to find out if Stucky and Clowny have any real value as NFL receivers this season.

Sign Matt Jones to 2 year deal, second year unguaranteed of course basically a one try out season. He did lead Jaguars in catches last season.

Now there's a guy to take a chance on!!! A receiver whose been in the league four years already and has never had 800 yards receiving or 5 TDs in a season. And he's a coke head too!! Why can't we just see if any of the young guys we have develop into a starter this year while the Jets are also trying to find out who the QB will be?

ability does not rub off to other players! they either have it or they don't. how to be a professional is what can be shown, but that doesn't help the current jets. we need a big reciever with talent, not a washed up migget marvin harrison...

Welcome to the offseason. Mini-camps are over and TC has not started yet. What else is there to talk about right now?

I can't believe the Jets let Drew Bennett slip through their hands.

Baltimore's situation illustrates how little value Harrison has. Mason retires and their receivers consist of Mark Clayton, Demetrius Williams, Marcus Smith and Kelley Washington. Do the Ravens sign Harrison? Nope.

Plaxico Burress is a rookie qb's best friend. Big Ben lead the steelers to the afc championship in his rookie season throwing to burress, Eli manning went to the playoffs every season he started and won a super bowl throwing to burress. He was instrumental to the progression of both of those "top tier" qb talents.

    Burress gets my vote

Marvin Harrison is the only real option from that list that I would consider. No down time , no wondering if he can sync up. A guaranteed baller ready from day one.

Drew Bennett? That better be a joke.

The guy hasn't held up as a starter in the past two seasons, what makes you think he can he can stay healthy any place else? Anyway, weren't you the guy who said the Jets shouldn't be going after old receivers? He's 30 with oft-injured legs. How much longer do you think he has?

Of course it was a joke. The point is that a team that is desperate for receivers choose Bennett over Harrison and Burress. That says a lot IMO.

Harrison is a real baller alright. That is why the Colts dumped him and no team has signed him. The guy is done.

It would be a perfect fit for the Jets.

your avatar looks "cold". Nice glass cutters.

EDIT: To keep in tune with the thread.....Plax probably isn't playing this year.....and the rest of the FA crop stinks. So, I'm going to go with "Stick with what we got"....and see who gets cut during TC from around the league....maybe, the Jets can find a replacement during that time frame.

Stick with what we have or make the big move for Boldin or Edwards.

    Forget about Plax guys...

Sadly, word on the street and in some news circles is that he's accepted a verbal agreement to be locked up for a year.

Plaxico's all but gone. The Jets, IMO, need to sign somebody to help Sanchez or Clemens. I know Rex says that he's happy with what he's got, but the Jets need to go out and get someone to compliment Cotch. They can't leave him alone out there.

i think we are now just going to hope that we can pick up someone serviceable as people get cut during camp. or we can just pray that clowney isn't as big a waste as his twittering makes him out to be.
